University Parks Drive, Waco, Texas 76798 Full UIL Basketball Playoff Brackets (PDF) On Friday, February 25, Pflugerville, 29-6 overall and ranked No. 10 in the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches/Tex Preps Basketball Magazine poll, will face DeSoto High School in the UIL State Tournament Regional semifinals of the 5A playoffs in the Final 16 of the tourney. DeSoto is 32-5 and ranked No. 2 in the TABC/Tex Preps 5A poll. The Eagles won the District 11-5A title. The Pflugerville-DeSoto contest takes place at Baylor University's Ferrell Center in Waco at 8 p.m. as the second game of the regional semifinal doubleheader. The first game, at 6 p.m., pits Killeen Ellison against Georgetown. See directions and ticket information, above. The two semifinal winners advance to the State 5A Regional Championship Game (Final 8) at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 26 at the Ferrell Center for the right to represent Region II at next week's UIL State Tournament (Final Four). The State Tournament takes place at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin. Head coach Nancy Walling's Panthers are making a UIL Regional semifinal Sweet 16 showing for the third time in the last four seasons, for the fourth time in the last seven years and for the 15th time in program history. In regional quarterfinal action on Feb. 22, Pflugerville defeated The Woodlands 62-47 while DeSoto beat Dallas Skyline HS, 52-47. P'ville earned its 19th Area Championship with a 65-50 Feb. 17 victory over No. 12 ranked Spring Dekaney. Pflugerville had defeated Del Valle, 50-29, on February 14 to earn the program's 23rd Bi-District championship and eighth in a row. In the MaxPreps national rankings, the DeSoto Eagles are ranked No. 21, while Pflugerville is ranked 52nd.
