Despite valiant efforts, Team BC was unable to overcome a 5 run deficit in the 7th inning and fell 8-4 to the Brandon Knights in the semi-final of the Western Canada Baseball championships held in Regina this past weekend.   Brandon took an early 2-0 lead.  In the bottom of the third inning, Jordan hit a tremendous 3 -run homer to give Team BC the lead.  However the lead was short-lived as Brandon tied the game with their next at bat and then proceeded to build it to a five run lead.

Leading up to the semi -final,  Team BC went undefeated in round-robin play defeating their opponents, St. Albert 10-0 in game two and beating South Central from Manitoba 6-2 in game three.  In the second game, Austen had an outstanding game hitting two home runs.  Although only 5 innings was needed,  Adam, Jeff and Liam all pitched well and combined for the shut-out.

In game three, Keaton started on the mound and was relieved by Ben, then Nick and Austen.  Team B.C.'s started off slowly but broke the game open with a 3-run homer by Aaron. Team B.C's defence was solid throughout the round-robin.  However, in the semi-final, some errors proved costly resulting in extra bases and runs for their opponent.

All in all, it was a great effort by a fine group of young men who should be proud of their accomplishments.  It was a great season.  We thank all of our fans, friends, and family for all their wonderful support including driving to practices and games, team functions, and of course being great fans at games.  Enjoy the rest of your summer and best wishes in whatever you do in the future.
