Tendencies and Adjustments
- Adjustments to opponent tendencies during game, in order to do this you and other coaches must be watchful.
- The first quarter should be to gage strengths and weaknesses of those tendencies, and their use.
- The second quarter you should gage which down those tendencies are used and be ready to make your adjustments by the 8 minute mark of the quarter to attack those weaknesses of the opponent.
- If the opponent has better athletes your adjustments must be one which will cause them to run more plays , you must eliminate quick strike plays in order for possible mistakes of the opponent .
- A second adjustment will need to be considered early in third quarter once the opponent has shown they have attempted to cover up their weakness.
- This should leave them exposed in another area that was once a strength , by the 8 minute mark of quarter 3 they should have exposed offensive and defensive adjustments made whether it be players or scheme.
Conclusion: After watching game film opponents tendencies are easy to spot great coaching abilities allow those same tendencies to be corrected and attacked during the course of play, giving you a greater opportunity to win. Develop the technique of being watchful for weaknesses that every opponent has no matter the athlete or game plan.
