The Outlaws beat Wagner/Avon 7-1 in the first-round of the high school baseball playoffs Tuesday at Drake Field.

Nate Zens pitched five innings and picked up the win for the Outlaws, which is now 16-4. He gave up no runs on four hits with five strikeouts.

Brennon Hilzendenger threw five innings for Wagner/Avon. He gave up seven runs on 10 hits with three strikeouts.

Trevor Doyle led the Outlaws offensively, going 3-for-3 with a triple, two doubles and an RBI. Zens was 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI, Zach London tripled, Kaleb Kopfmann had a double and two RBIs and Austin Letcher had an RBI.

Hilzendenger was 2-for-2 for Wagner/Avon and Branson Tolliver doubled.

The Outlaws play the winner of today’s division semifinal game between Parkston and Corsica/Stickney/Armour at 7 p.m. Friday at Drake Field for the division championship.
