The District championship, which was clinched last week, is the program's 23rd in history and its seventh in the last eight years and eighth in the last 10 seasons. Under current head coach Nancy Walling, the Panthers have earned 11 District championships, gaining the district title seven times in the last eight seasons and eight times in the last 10 years.

The Panthers started the game trailing 8-0 before posting a 15-7 run to close out the last five minutes of the first period. Those five minutes saw the Panthers force the Raiders into five turnovers and two missed shots. In the second quarter, P'ville took the lead for good when Omozee made two free throws to break the 15-15 tie with 6:33 to go and senior Jonelle Smith followed with a three-pointer on P'ville's next possession.
