MOUNT VERNON — Cody London struck out 11 batters in six innings of work as the Mount Vernon-Plankinton-Woonsocket Outlaws defeated Parkston 4-3 Sunday in Mount Vernon.
London pitched six innings, giving up five hits and two runs — one earned. He walked just one batter.
Deric Denning got the save after coming in with the team leading 4-2 in the final inning. He gave up one run but held on for the 4-3 victory.
Brian Vermeulen and Cam Deinert each had two hits for the Outlaws in the win. Vermeulen scored two runs on the day.
Justin Davis and Cody Renken each recorded a hit and an RBI.
The Outlaws improved to 2-1 and host Corsica/Stickney/Armour Saturday in Mount Vernon.
The JV lost 3-0 and fell to 1-2. |
