The win pushes Pflugerville to 22-5 overall. The Panthers are second in District play with a 6-1 mark. This was the second Panther win over the Dragons (14-9, 4-3 in the district) this year, as the Panthers earned a 58-43 win at Round Rock on December 21.

In the final three minutes of the second quarter and in the third quarter, Pflugerville out-scored Round Rock by a 27-5 margin in that span. The Panthers made their run behind Enemkpali, senior forward Adesuwa Ebomwonyi and junior forward Itiana Taylor (nine points, four rebounds). Ebomwonyi scored four points but dominated on the boards, pulling down a game-high 13 rebounds.

The Panthers trailed by one, 23-22 with 3:16 left in the second quarter before closing out the quarter on an 8-0 run to lead 30-23 at the break. In the third quarter, the Panthers tough defense stopped the Dragons, holding them to just five points. Pflugerville pushed its lead to double-digits midway through the quarter. Leading 36-25, a Taylor baseline jumper gave P'ville a 38-25 edge with 4:20 to go. Then, Enemkpali snagged a defensive rebound and went coast-to-coast on a fastbreak layup to put the Panthers up 40-25 with 3:30 left in the quarter.

Panther senior guard Curtiesha Woods and sophomore guard Taliyah Brooks chipped in with eight points apiece. Brooks also had five rebounds and three assists.

Pflugerville dominated in rebounding and held a 44-20 edge on the boards. The Panthers went 21 for 27 from the foul line while the Dragons made eight of 11 free throw attempts.

Pflugerville next plays on Friday, Jan. 21, traveling to Stony Point for a 7:30 p.m. district matchup.
