The Columbus Hidden Gems signed Jamika Banks with every intention of her playing in the 2011 WBCBL season, but now will have to wait a while before she actually puts on the uniform. Jamika has signed a professional contract and is in Australia for the next few months beginning her dream. The 6'0" Forward is a powerful player who should have much success in her newly appointed place of employment. The Gems wish her well and hope to have her back by Regional & National Tournament time.

Ashleigh Brown has signed with the Visby Ladies of Sweden in the Top Division. The former Miami, Ohio D1 talent has a very bright future as a versatile player who can be extremely effective at any position other than point guard and center. Ashleigh was a key component of the #1 Team in the Nation throughout the regular season and Elite 8 participant in the National Tournament.

Three members of the team were acknowledged as All Region players and one of them was chosen for Regional MVP.

Former Salem Intern. star guard, Jeannie Saunders (5'8''-G-86, college: Salem Intern.) has re-signed with the Visby Ladies of the Top Division in Sweden. In her first campaign there, Jeannie Saunders (5'8''-G-86, college: Salem Intern.) had an amazing season last year with Visby: 18.1ppg (4th), 48.8%FG (25th), 38.6%3pt (18th), 6.1rpg (20th), 2.5apg (16th), 33mins per game and was honored with Eurobasket.com All-Swedish Damligan Honorable Mention -10. Expect even more quality play from the 2010 Los Angeles Sparks camp invitee and Hidden Gems Professional Placement client.

Jeannie Saunders of the WBCBL Columbus Hidden Gems has been invited and signed for the free agent/rookie training camp by the WNBA Los Angeles Sparks. Jeannie is a California native who played her first 2 years of college ball with NCAA D1 Long Beach State where she was on the All BWC Newcomer Team and the BWC All Freshman Team and an All Conference player as well. The starter on Long Beach State's Regular Season Runner-Up teams both years as well as Tournament Finalists and Semi-Finalists during her 2 year tenure. Jeannie put up statistical season highs of 10ppg, 4rpg, 3apg, 2spg, 47%FG, 42%3pt, 70%FT.

Once at NCAA D2 Salem International, Saunders was a 2-time All WVIAC Conference 1st Team selection, 2-Time All Region, and 2-Time All American with statistical season highs of 22ppg, 7rpg, 6apg, 4spg, 47%FG, 33%3pt, 83%FT.

With the WBCBL Columbus Hidden Gems, Jeannie Saunders ended with 21.1ppg, 6.7rpg, 6.6apg, 4.7spg, 2FGP: 62.3%, 3PT: 43.5%, FT: 72.7%.

Moving on to Puerto Rico with Cabo Rojo, Saunders averaged 20.0pppg(6th), 47.0%FG(9th), 36.0%3pt(4th), 82.9%FT(3rd) 8.0rpg(21st), 5.5apg(4th), 3.0spg(4th), 0.5bpg(13th) and was on the leaderboard for every statistical category available.

From there she signed with Sweden's top division Visby Ladies franchise and averaged 18.1ppg(4th), 48.8%FG(25th), 38.6%3pt(18th), 6.1rpg(20th), 2.5apg(16th), 33mins per game.

Jeannie Saunders is the second Columbus Hidden Gems player to become closer to her life-long goal of making it to the WNBA as Brandie Hoskins already has signed a WNBA Training Camp contract with the New York Liberty.

Brandie Hoskins' career has been one of patience and passion. As a High School player in Dayton, Brandie was such a highly regarded player that she played in the McDonald's All American Game. From there, Hoskins took her talents to Ohio State and was an instant impact player for the upstart Buckeyes. She was a Big 10 All Freshman Team member and even made and played for the USA University National Team and won Gold in Turkey. As she rounded out her career at Ohio State, the All Big 10 performer was drafted by the Seattle Storm in the 3rd round with the 33rd pick overall. Due to injury she was unable to display her vast talents in the roster spot she earned. After attempting to prove that she was fully recovered with quality play in top level leagues like Isreal, Greece, Ukraine, and of course the WBCBL with Reebok's Columbus Hidden Gems, Brandie wondered if her 2nd chance would ever come.

Well the opportunity of a lifetime has finally been placed upon this awe-striking talent as Brandie Hoskins has signed with the WNBA New York Liberty to their Training Camp roster. The New York Liberty do not do the usual "free agent camp" or the "rookie camp" like many other teams do. They bring in a very select amount players(18-20 usually) and pick their final roster from there, which makes Brandie's chances of making the team for 2010 very high. Brandie Hoskins was dominant in her WBCBL debut last season with averages of 18.5ppg 5.9rpg 4.5apg 1.9spg 59%FG 39%3pt 66%FT in slightly more than 20mins per game.

This amazing signing shows the high quality of play in the WBCBL and also the realistic possibility that a top notch player from the WBCBL can not only make a living playing professional basketball overseas at various levels of play, but that a WBCBL player can truly take her game to THE top level of female basketball in the entire world......just as the great Brandie Hoskins has done. DeNisha Gray has signed on to play with the 2010 WBCBL Reebok's Columbus Hidden Gems and has also received her first professional contract. DeNisha is the newest member of the Visby Ladies in the top division in Sweden. Her teammate there will be fellow Reebok's Columbus Hidden Gem, Jeannie Saunders. This small, cat-quick Point Guard will be a welcomed addition to both rosters. DeNisha is a former All American from her collegiate days at Indiana Tech who was ranked among the top players in the entire Nation in steals per game 3 of her 4 years there. She was a quality WBCBL player for the Flint Flames in 2009 as well. Look for Gray to make a big impact on each of her new squads in the near future.

"Thy"(pronounced 'Tie') is a very versatile frontcourt player who is capable at the 4 or 5 positions. She is expected to come in and make a big impact on the Swedish roster. The same is expected of her with the Reebok's Columbus Hidden Gems in 2010.

Jeannie Saunders continued her professional career in the Top Division of Sweden(Damligan) with Visby Ladies after a very successful season in Puerto Rico and with Reebok's Columbus Hidden Gems. Jeannie Saunders began her collegiate career at NCAA D1 Long Beach St and was All Conference in each of her 2years there. Upon transferring to Salem International the standout combo guard was a 2-time All American who totally filled up the entire stat sheet during her NCAA D2 tenure. Then Jeannie came to Reebok's Columbus Hidden Gems and lit up the entire WBCBL with amazing all around production.
