The Bobcats were forced to play catch up after giving up an early goal but eventually fell to Cy Falls 3-1.  The Bobcats were playing short handed due to injuries and suspensions making it a long night for the Bobcats.  Andrew Tang scored the lone Bobcat goal from a penalty kick with 11 minutes left in the 1st period.  The Bobcats went into the halftime period down 2-1.

Cy Fair was the aggressor in the second period with several free kicks and corner kicks but they failed to convert their chances.  The Bobcats remain in 2nd place in a tightly contested district play.  Cy Fair travels to Cy Woods for a Friday night match.

Posted Feb 22/13 - Bobcats Roll Past Ranch 2-0

It wasn't always pretty, but the Cy Fair Bobcats earned 3 points for their 2-0 win over the Cy Ranch Mustangs.  Cy Ranch threatened early with a solid strike that hit off the cross bar and the Bobcats countered only to see their strike also hit off the crossbar.  The Bobcats maintained possession and had several scoring opportunities but struggled to get on the scoreboard.  The game was stopped briefly at the 22 minute mark after an on-field altercation.  One player from both teams received a Red card so each team was forced to play with only 10 players for the remainder of the game.  Once again, Senior scoring sensation Geoff Orihel got the Bobcats first goal with 12 minutes left in the first period.

The Bobcats continued to be the aggressor but struggled to put away their scoring chances.  With 10 minutes left, Aaron Hastings scored off a header to give the Bobcats a comfortable 2-0 lead.  The defense lead by Seniors Travis Hastings, Tripp Manzella and Francisco LoSauro are credited with Cy Fair's second consecutive clean sheet. Cy Fair remains in 2nd place and just two points behind Langham Creek in District 17-5a play.  Cy Fair is now 5-1-2 and will host Cy Falls on  Tues 2/26 at 7pm.

Orihel leads the Bobcats with 6 goals and has scored in all but one match during district play. The Bobcats defense continues their strong play with their second clean sheet of the season.

In a tightly contested match, Langham Creek narrowly defeated Cy Fair Bobcats 2-1.  The Lobos had to come from behind as Cy Fair got out to the early 1-0 lead off of a goal from Geoff Orihel.  The Lobos had several corner kick opportunities in the first half and eventually found the back of the net off of a well played header at the 31 minute mark.  Both teams went into halftime with a 1-1 score.

Both teams struggled to create scoring opportunities in the second half with some well played defense making it difficult on both squads.  The Bobcats attacked first but were unable to convert on a couple of scoring chances.  The Lobos had ball possession as the game went on and scored at the 30 minute mark to give them the final lead of 2-1.

Cy Fair was leading district play going into the match but the loss dropped their record to 3-1-1 while Langham Creek regained the top spot in district 17a. The Bobcats will be back in action Friday night as they travel to Jersey Village for a 7pm kick off.

The Cy Fair Bobcats posted their first shutout of the season with a 2-0 win over the Cy Falls Eagles.  Cy Fair withstood a couple of early scoring opportunities from the Eagles but the Bobcats got on the scoreboard first as Aaron Hastings scored off an assist from Morgan Shay at the 32 minute mark.  The Bobcats continued to maintain possession of the ball and went into halftime with a 1-0 lead.

The Bobcats scored four minutes into the second period when Geoff Orihel went one on one with the goalkeeper and used his foot skills to manuver by the keeper and calmly drilled the ball into the back net from ten meters out.  Senior Midfielders Adonis Pinto and Murtaza Rivzi clogged up the middle while ensuring the Bobcats maintained possesion by swining the ball from side to side.  The Eagles pushed forward late in the game but the Bobcats experienced backline led by Seniors Ethan Kovar, Travis Hastings, Tripp Manzella and Sophmore Stephen Orihel squelched all scoring threats.

Posted Mar 27/12 - Bobcats draw 0-0 to Cy Creek
Cy Fair had a flurry of scoring opportunities but had to settle for a 0-0 draw against Cy Creek.  The Bobcats are fighting for the final playoff spot and will have to win against Jersey Village on Friday to secure their spot in post season play.  From start to finish, the Bobcats applied offensive pressure and created plenty of scoring opportunities but they were denied by either good goal keeping or just not being able to put the ball in the net.

The second half saw more of the same action with Cy Fair controlling the attack but they came up empty on each scoring attempt.  Midway through the second half, Cy Fair celebrated what seemed to be the first goal of the match but it was overruled by the side judge who had a clear line of site that the ball didn't completely cross over the line.  Cy Creek had several scoring opportunities off of set pieces but was denied by strong goalkeeping from Sophomore Jose Izquierdo.

Cy Fair trails Cy Lakes in the playoff race by one point and will have a chance to clinch their playoff spot in the final game (rescheduled from rainout) of the season at Jersey Village on Friday at 7pm.
