Team, Saturday was very exciting. The kids played their hearts out, especially the last game. We essentially played Westbrook’s all star team. The very best that they had to offer and we held them to one score on their last play of the game. I am very proud of the effort that they put in. Practice will be Tuesday and Thursday from 5-6:30… Depending on what time it will get dark.
We play under the lights this Friday at the high school against the Giants at half time of the high school game. Please have your player there by 7:15pm. Thank you!!!

Great news everyone - everyone on the Jets is a go and it looks like everyone on the 3 other teams are going as well. We will have strong representation from BAYFL. This should be a fantastic time.
Initially, this is what I am thinking. The morning of the 16th we all should meet at the football field around 10am. We all caravan down to the field and arrive somewhere around 11am and get warmed up and practice plays. We will finalize the plans next week. I just wanted to give everyone an update. Thank you!!!

We will practice this week on Tuesday and Wednesday from 5-7. We will not be practicing on Thursday due to a conflict that I have with my older sons game.
We have also been asked to play a mini game with the Giants at half time at the Brunswick High school game this Friday night. This is usually a fun event. Kids will get in free when they wear their jerseys. More to come on this in terms of what time to be there… Please let me know on Tuesday if you can’t make the Friday night game.

Thursday – no practice due to open houses Game – Sunday 9/26 11am We will practice before the game starting at 9:45am Practice the week of the 27th - 1st
9/28 – Tuesday - practice and scrimmage with the Bears 5-7. Because of the amount of players both teams have, practicing together will benefit both teams. Especially of the defensive side of the ball. Depending on how this works out, it may become a regular thing.
9/30 – Thursday – Practice from 5-7, scrimmage the Dolphins from 6-7.
I want to get as much "game" experiance as we can. That is why I am going to try and schedule scimmages as ofton as we can. |

First of all, great practice on Thursday!!! Thank you parents for being good sports out there. Practicing in harsh conditions builds good football character and I have to admit it was fun. I think we managed to learn 5 plays. That's a credit to the kids. They are really starting to come together. Coach Bob and Coach Lee were impressed.
For Saturday - Opening Day Please have your player at the field at 11 am. Its going to be crowded but lets meet in our usual spot, if we have to move from there we can. I would like to have a mini practice before we play. They should be dresses in their game uniforms as we will be playing 2 mini games. Noon - all BAYFL team introductions 12:30 pm - Jets v. Dolphins 2:00 pm - Jets v. Giants
In between games, players can go with parents. We will meet again 20 minutes (1:40 pm) prior to our second game at the same usual spot. If for some reason that the time schedule gets altered in any way, we will play our second game after the Dolphins/ Bears game. After the second game everyone is free to go or stay and enjoy the rest of the festivities. And as always call me with any questions.

I just wanted to say that I think we had a fantastic season. I wanted to express my gratitude to the parents. The dedication that was put forth to make this a successful season was greatly appreciated. At the beginning of the season I had one goal. That goal was to ensure everyone had fun and maybe learn a little something about football. I think we did that and then some and that’s a credit to a great bunch of kids who displayed the desire and pride to get better. We also had 4 assistant coaches who each brought something different in terms of football knowledge to the table and were very good with the kids. Thank you all very much and I look forward to next year.

| Just wanted to touch base about tomorrows game. We have a few players who will not be able to attend the game. Sorry for the change but the burial time for Tanya's father has been changed so I need to cancel practice Friday.We have a game Saturday at 11am. What I would like to do is have all of the kids at the field by 9:30am Saturday morning and have our practice then. It will be a light practice to go over plays and defensive alignment and may be helpful to get them ready for the Dolphins. I was just made aware of the Recognition Night at BHS tomorrow. I thought we were just playing a game at the half. ALL teams are to be at the high school, lined up in the endzone ready for announcing by 6:30pm. Please allow enough time for your kids to arrive, gather, and get lined up. We’ll run on the field similarly to what we did last night. The Dragons will then be announced, the national anthem, then exit the field for a 7:00pm kickoff.

| The kids played great today. The hard work and focus at practice is really starting to show on the field. We've got our hands full next week however, the Giants scored at will against Medomak, so we'll need to focus and continue to work hard to prepare for next week's game. I saw a lot of reverses and double reverses from them. We'll be ready! The kids should be proud of their effort, but at the same time, we need to guard against overconfidence, which we'll be sure to nip in the bud at practice on Tuesday if needed. | Please meet at the MTA game tomorrow night at 7pm. We will meet at the baseball field area to warm up and get ready for the short game at halftime. We will need to be ready to go 4 minutes prior to halftime. On Sunday, I would like to have all the players there at 830, an hour prior to the game to warm up and get ready. The team is really progressing well. They have made great strides in their tackling, blocking, shedding blocks and overall agressive play. They are a great bunch of kids and a pleasure to coach. We are trying to get them to play as hard as they can and be more aggressive, particularly our offensive and defensive lines. We are getting there! What can I say, this has been an extraordinary season for me personally. The last game said it all. The team fought until the final second and I quote the Dolphins coach “ Your team came to play” and their assistant said “best game of the season for the league”. We had 11 kids playing their tail off against a team that has not scored no less than three touchdown every single game. We held them to 1 and almost tied it up at the end on a fantastic play that involved everyone. It has been my pleasure coaching your kids. This by far has been the most rewarding year for me when I look at where the kids started to where they are now in terms of their football/team work skills. We will have a team party, the date has not been finalized but Tanya will keep you all informed.
Equipment turn in will be this Wednesday from 6:30pm-7pm. Not sure if received the emails from the league or not but see below for details. See you all Wednesday night!!!
s Cleaning Instructions
1. All equipment must be returned clean and in good condition (reasonable wear and tear excepted) to avoid being charged a fee for the item. We are going to be stricter about enforcing this rule this season because in the past couple of years we have purchased a lot of new equipment and want to keep it in good condition. We'd rather spend money on replacing more equipment than wasting it on re-buying items we just replaced. The"golden rule" is: "Return the equipment in a condition that you would want it to be issued to your child".
2. All helmet stickers should be removed. The stickers that the league has supplied should not leave any residue. If necessary, warm the sticker slightly with a blow dryer. If the helmet has any "sticky" stuff on it, please rub off or remove with "Goof off". Please do not use nail polish remover or acetone as this will damage the plastic.
3. The helmet (including the facemask and chinstrap) and shoulder pads should be washed with warm soapy water and allowed to air dry. Following this, please spray both helmet and shoulder pads with a disinfectant spray such as Lysol to kill any germs and allow to dry again. Both of these steps need to be followed to properly disinfect the equipment.
4. Remember not to over-dry the integrated pants and girdles as this will result in the pads shrinking. However, all equipment must be returned dry to avoid mildew/germ issues.
5. Coaches are expected to assist with their team's equipment return.
6. All equipment is returned to the storage building at the Topsham Fairgrounds (where you received it).
7. All of the trophies are in, but each teams will not be released until their equipment has been returned.

I spoke to some of the parents last night about a Football Jamboree tournament that I want to enter the kids in. So far everyone that I have spoken with is in. For those who I have not spoken with here are some details. When - October 16th from 12pm-6pm
Where - Deering field What - Little Ladd jamboree football tournament. The kids will have a chance to play 4-5 games against other towns. The games are considered mini games. Instead of quarters, they will use a # of plays format. 8 plays offense and 8 plays defense. They will also receive medals at the end.. I need almost everyone committed to going in order for us to enter. So please see me at practice tonight. There will be no cost associated with this as the league will pay our $100 dollar entry fee. It gives us a chance to extend our season another week as the Dolphins have agreed to play us the week after instead of our scheduled game with them on the 16th.

I think the kids now understand why we practice the same thing over and over, because we want to get it right. We did that on Sunday, we did the little things right, the hand offs, the reverse hand offs. We will continue to work on the little things, and even put some pass plays in for next game. Just a reminder that practice will be on Monday from 5-7 and kick off night will be Wednesday (more news to come). Understanding that this is the first week of school we will not have practice on Thursday.
T-shirts and Stickers Tanya will need to collent all of the money on Monday as we are going to place the order Monday night. For those parents and siblings that would like t-shirts, I can order as many as we want for $7 a piece. They will look exactly like the kids shirts. It will have BAYFL on top and the JETS logo in the middle. May look intimidating to the opposite team if they see 50 people wearing Jets shirts. :)

Parents, just a quick reminder for Saturday. If the opening day festivities are not cancelled due to the weather we will meet at 11am near the 2 trees adjacent to the field. Please have your child wear their game jersey. For those who still owe helmet stickers and t-shirt money please bring on Saturday as we would to place the order Saturday night. For those parents and or siblings that want a t-shirt they will be $7.00 per shirt. Thank you and see you on Saturday!!!

Thank you for the huge turn out at the volunteer practice on Tuesday. We are starting to come together as a team. Both Coach Bob and Coach TJ were very impressed with the effort that the team displayed. I look forward to tomorrow.

| Team - Just a quick note to say thank you for your assistance with the bottle drive. A special thank you to Sally Grout for distributing the flyers and participating on Saturday. Thank you also to Neil Lachance, Corey Minchin, Janine King, Susan McNeill, and Rick Downs for also assisting on Saturday.
