The 14U High Intensity again made it to the semi-finals this past weekend in the Steve Benner Patriots Tournament. They went 3-0 on Saturday and came up a bit short keeping them from the finals. In the semi-final game the Big Blue Wrecking Crew lead 6-1 in the 4th inning, but that wasn't enough to keep this group of girls down. They came back in the 6th with 1 run and added yet 2 more in the 7th, but just no time left they lost 6-4 to the Crew. Having off next weekend, they head to Ocean City, Md for the Blast at the Beach.
The 14U girls made their way to Chambersburg this past weekend and participated in the USSSA Memorial Day Shootout. Being short 3 girls on Saturday, the 9 that attended seemed to have a long day ahead of them as they played 4 games. They all came out and gave all they had and played like true champions. They proved that they were there to play some serious ball. The girls had 3 wins and 1 loss going into Sunday. After pool play on Saturday, the team finished 2nd seed. Coming in on Sunday, all 12 girls were present and still had the same winning attitude as they started off winning the first two games. They suffered their first loss to the tournament champion, PA Poison. The second and final loss came as they faced off against the tournament runner up, Pittsburgh Spirit. The team did not go down easy as they gave both these older 14U teams a run for their money. The High Intensity made a name for themselves in the USSSA world as they finished with best scoring and best differential. This group of girls all pulled together and left many teams wandering where they came from. They are off to Hess Field in State College this weekend to compete in the Lady Patriots Steve Benner Tournament.
