Three Rivers Sandblasters American Legion Baseball
Welcome to the Home of the Three Rivers Sandblasters based in Florence, Oregon. We are sponsored by American Legion Post 59 and supported by Three Rivers Casino in Florence. We will be starting our 10th season under the guidance of former San Diego State coach Jim Dietz for the 2014 season. Former Sandblasters are competing this Spring at the next level with Michael Bennet at West Virginia , Jake Thompson at Oregon State, Doug Molzahn at Western Oregon, Ryan Smith at Lower Columbia College, Alex Snow at the College of the Siskyious, and Hayden Davisson at Linfield.
The home games are played on John "Jiggs " Dodson Field at Siuslaw High School. We are affiated with American Legio Baseball and play in Area 3, along with teams from Eugene, Salem, Stayton, Dallas, Albany, and Corvallis.

Following a disappointing league season the Florence Three Rivers Sandblasters needed to win the 4 team Super Regional tournament hosted by the NW Stars of Sandy to earn a berth to the American Legion AAA State Tournament in starting in Medford next week.
Game 1 Three Rivers 6 vs NW Stars 13. 5PM Friday July 26
The host team the Stars won the opening game 13-6. Jake Thompson and Nick Cole combined to give up only 9 hits but 9 walks and 4 errors proved to be the deciding factor. Tylan Corder led the Sandblasters with 3 hits including a double with Corey Shuster adding 2 hits.
Game 2 Three Rivers 13 vs Redmond 0. 11AM Saturday July 27th
Travis Gallagher started the elimination game against Redmond, giving up just 1 hit in 3 innings. Nick Cole then threw 4 innings allowing only 2 hits as Three Rivers won 13-0 in a game shortened to 7 innings due to the 10 run rule. Ryan Smith was a single short of hitting for the cycle and added 3 RBI's. Tylan Corder, Drew James, Travis Gallagher and John Dodson each added 2 hits.
Game 3 Three Rivers 8 vs Withnell Dodgers 6. 5 PM Saturday
In their 2nd elimination game of the day the Sandblasters needed 11 innings to beat Withnell 8-6. Doug Malzahn was the starting pitcher who scattered 11 hits in 9 innings before Tylan Corder closed out the last two innings facing only 6 batters. John Dodson collected 3 hits including a 2 run RBI single in the 9th inning to tie the game. Doug Molzahn also had 3 hits with 2 run RBI single in the 11th inning to give the Sandblasters the lead for good.
Game 4 Three Rivers 7 vs NW Stars 8. 1 PM Sunday.
The Sandblasters needed to beat the Stars twice Sunday to advance to State but came up short as the Stars broke a 7-7 tie in the bottom of the 9th inning to claim the berth to state. The Sandblasters were down 7-1 in the 7th before they battled back to tie the game. Travis Gallagher and Tylan Corder allowed only 10 hits over the 9 inning game but were hurt by hitting 5 batters. Offensively, Three Rivers were lead by Tylan Corder with 3 hits including his 3rd double of the tournament. Molzahn and Dodson also added 3 hits each, while Gallagher and Josh Iabichello added 2 hits each.
The NW Stars will join the other 2 Super Regional winners on Sunday, Corvallis and Wilson Post 20 (Dallas) at the AAA State Tournament July 31-August 4 at Harry and David Field in Medford. The four Zone champions- Stayton, Portland Barbers, The Dalles, and Grants Pass plus the host Medford will complete the 8 team State Tournament.
The NW Stars are the host for our Super Regional, July 26-28th. All games will be played at Sandy High School. The recommended motel is the Best Western in Sandy. Of note, The Sandy HS field is all turf and metal cleats are not allowed on the field, even for the pitchers.

Three Rivers 7 Canyon 6
Doug Molzahn threw his 2nd 9 inning complete game to get the win, scattering 11 hits and striking out 7. Ty Watt homered for Canyon. Ryan Smith continues his hitting terror going 3 for 4 with a double, rbi, two stolen bases and two runs scored (game winning). Jake Thompson added 2 rbi for Three Rivers. Three Rivers had a combined 7 sacrifice at bats (sac flys and bunts).

Clayton Duryee went 2 for 2 for Three Rivers. Ty Watt homered again and DJ Harryman went 4 for 4 for Canyon. The Crushers had 13 hits. Alex Emerson got the win for Canyon
