The Saskatoon Smokin' Guns, in their first Senior AA provincials, capture the championship in style. With strong starting pitching, big rallies and great defense, the Guns cruised to the final undefeated and met the tourneys underdogs, Saskatoon Diggers, in the final. The Diggers, also on the heels of great pitching and tireless bats made it to the final undefeated as well. But in the end the Guns proved to be to much defeating the Diggers 7-3.
It was great weekend of baseball for the Saskatoon Senior Baseball League as again proving that it is one of the elite Senior leagues, not only in the province, but throughout Western Canada.

The 3rd Annual Dylan Nahorniak Preseason Tournament will be held on May 11 at Cairn's Field. This will be an 8 team Fun Tourney with each team playing 3 games consisting of 4 innings each. There will be entertainment throughout the afternoon for children and the Stallions donning Kumberbums and Bowties to host a play money casino night in the evening. Burgers,dogs and smokies will be on the Barbie throughout the day. Also available will be the ever popular perogie pit. All proceeds from this event will continue to go to Dylan's daughter Brooklyn's Trust Fund. The Nahorniaks have also expressed a wish to create a Dylan Nahorniak Scholorship Fund this season. We will supply more information as it is made available.

Saskatoon Stallions defeated Marysburg Royals in the best of 5 (3-1) to win the SSBL league title. Mike Rotchell of the Stallions won the Ace Plumbing Playoff MVP award. Stallions defeated the Smokin Guns to advance to the finals and Marysburg defeated the Outlaws to advance.
The Saskatoon Stallions won Jr. AAA Provincials, an 8 team tournament held in Yorkton, Sk over the long weekend. The team made up of Jr. aged players from around the league, captured the title beating the Regina Red Sox in the Gold Medal game and move on to represent Saskatchewan at Canadian Nationals in Windsor, ON later this month. The Saskatoon Dodgers finished 3rd with a 5-3 win over the Yorkton Cardinals in the Bronze Medal game and will represent Saskatchewan at the Western Canadian Championships in Winnipeg, MB.
The Marysburg Royals won SR. AA provincials hosted in Saskatoon. They beat Lloydminster in the final game 4-1 to capture their first SR. AA provincial championship in their 93rd yr of existence. Bevan ledingham pitched a gem in the final game, throwing a complete game 4 hit masterpiece. Clutch hits by Braden Bauml, Luke Strueby and Dustin Emberley got the Royals runs when needed. The Royals will represent Saskatchewan at the Western Canadian Baseball Championships held in Trail, B.C. on August 25th - 28th.
