Game Recap:

-A 7th inning grand slam did Sleepy Eye in during the Northwest Sub-District Championship Sunday against Dassel.  Sleepy Eye rallied for four runs in the bottom of the sixth to take a two run lead going into the seventh.  The grand slam proved to be the difference as Dassel would beat Sleepy Eye 9-7 to win the Sub-District.  Tyler Braulick took the loss in relief of starter Tyler Windshitl.  Sleepy Eye now moves on to the District Tournament next week in Sleepy Eye.

-Sleepy Eye advances to the Northwest Sub-District Championship by defeating Hutchinson 7-2 on Saturday.  Sleepy Eye dropped a game to Dassel earlier in the day 8-4 but responded with a win to earn their right to play in the District Tournament next week in Sleepy Eye.
Adam Sellner was the workhorse as he logged 9 innings pitched on the day, 2 in relief of Sean Mathiowetz in game one and a complete game in game 2.  Sellner allowed 2 runs on only 4 hits with 10 strikeouts against Hutchinson in the complete game victory.  Tyler Windshitl and Dale McMullen led the Post 800 offense Saturday by collecting 9 hits between the two of them.

-Sleepy Eye opened the Sub-District tournament Thursday and ran away with two victories.  Aggressive baserunning and splendid pitching was the key to both Post 800 victories as they would beat Glencoe 4-1 in the opening round and would then defeat Hutch#1 6-1 in round two.  Nathan Kral earned the victory in game 1 by throwing a complete game, allowing one unearned run on four hits with 2 strikeouts.  In game 2 Scott Salfer threw a complete game one hitter as he would stifle Hutch's bats all game long in picking up the victory.
