WELCOME TO THE HOME OF THE SCORPIONS

2006 DIVISION CHAMPIONS!!

The Scorpions defeated Terry Fox 44-28 to win the Division Championship before a packed house at Lester B. Pearson Highschool. Despite being down at the half, Sansom came out firing in the second and never looked back, opening up a double digit lead and clamping down on defence bringing down a season high 22 defensive rebounds. Overall it was a great team effort and a great way to cap a succesful season. The coaching staff would also like to extend a special thank you to all the fans (including many many Sansom alumni), Sansom staff, and parents who made it out to all of the games. This season was a wild ride, thank you for sticking with us!

Philosophy

The Clarence Sansom Senior Boys team operates on a philosophy that has been developed by its coaching staff. This philosophy has three tenets.

First, we believe in providing the students of our school the opportunity to participate in the game of basketball and develop a love for the game. Those students who do not make the Senior team have not reached the end of the road. We present them with options regarding community leagues, camps and other opportunities available with the team. We do not want making our team the be all and end all of their basketball careers.

Second, we believe that our main role as coaches is to develop our players skills such that they succeed in making their high school teams and beyond. Sansom school has consistently produced players that have gone on to high school, college and univeristy level basketball. Development for us also means developing the person. We emphasize leadership, teamwork, respect for self and others, citizenship, pride in not only their play but also their school, and consistent academic effort. After all the student comes first in Student-Athlete.

Third, we believe that winning is important but not at the cost of enjoying the game of basketball. Basketball is a game and games are meant to be fun.
