Welcome to a new year of  Soccer.   This will be an exciting year, moving to a bigger full sized pitch and playing 11-a-side.    Please check the web site regularly for updates and team information.

September 16, 2011.

Great first win Predators.   The game was well played, with the Predators showing some good domination in the mid field.    The defence was strong throughout the game, turning away the opposition strikers.   We were strong at moving the ball, and took advantage of the lack of subs on the other team.    We had a chance to take the lead at the end of the first half, with a Penalty Shot, however, the opponent's keeper was solid.   Ammar made some good saves to keep them off the scorebook.  And in the 20th minute of the 2nd half, Noah would launch a volley kick up and over the keeper to put us in the lead.    Some solid game management held on to give us the win 1-0. Considering it was oir first game, and no training with our formations, the lads did extremely well. Congratulations on the win.

Sept 12, 2011.

Just an FYI, our game this weekend has moved from Saturday to Friday.

Friday at 6:15 pm, at Van Tech Turf.    Please adjust your schedules.

Pre-game food.

Bananas contail three natural sugars - sucrose, fructose and glucose combined with fiber.  A banana gives instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy.  Research has proven that just two bananas provide enough energy for a strenuous 90 minute workout.  No wonder the banana is the number one fruit with the worlds leading athletes!

All Practices:  Shin Guards, Soccer Socks and Cleats are mandatory....as is water!

The boys will be tired and sore in the beginning.   If it is just muscle soreness, they can work though it, with healthy nutrition, plenty of rest, lots of fluids and proper stretching.   If they have injuries, then it is likely that they will have to refrain from impact training....and in some cases, stop physical actvity all together.  Please speak to me to address any injury concerns.

SLEEP!  The boys need more rest for their bodies to recover from the stresses they are putting them through.   Especially on game nights.

As you are probably already aware, your muscles do not actually regenerate while you are working out. Rather, they grow while you are eating and resting.

The time that you spend sleeping is one of the primary periods where the recovery and remodeling of damaged muscle tissue takes place. Not only do your muscles require recovery time, but your central nervous system, joints and immune system need rest too.
