May 20th, 2010

We played a fun tournament everyone.   A great big thank you to Taiki for helping out the team.  We finished in 4th place out of 8 teams, which is a great showing for us.    I think everyone had fun and learned a bunch about baseball over the weekend.  Thank you to all our parent volunteers too!

May 13th, 2010

We played our first game of the Richmond Mosquito Tournament.  We were playing against the Rockies, another Richmond team.   The game went back and forth for the first 5 inning, with the score being close, 9-8 for the Rockies...but we struggled in the final inning, losing 15-8.  It was a good lesson about focus for the lads.    We recored 5 hits, 4 KL's, 5 KS's, we had 11 walks, 1 HBP, 3 singles and 2 doubles (Josh and Noah O).  See you at the next game!

May 4th, 2010

We played our 2nd games against the Angels.   We did not have a strong game and made several errors on the field.     Final score was Aces 8 - Angels 8.

May 2nd, 2010

This game was rained out.

April 30th, 2010.

The Schedule has been updated.   The Tournament schedule is now on the web site.   Please update your own calendars.

April 27th, 2010

We played our 5th league game at Thompson again.    We were the visiting team again, which put us up to bat first.  As always on Tuesday's the boys have a hard time focusing at the game...darn that long day at school!   Having said that, we had a better showing at the plate...we recorded only 4 KS's, and 5 KS's, but we also had 9 hits, including a triple, hit by Jordan...great job Jordan!   We recorded 17 walks, while only walking 10 Angels.    We had 15 stolen bases.  Final score was Aces 15 - Angels 7.  See you at the practice - Thursday at the Whiteside Mosquito West.

April 20th, 2010

Today we played our 4th game, and our second at Thompson Field.   The team had a few difficulties concentrating today, which seems to be typical for a Tuesday after a long day at school.    We recorded three hits (including 2 doubles hit by Jordan and Noah W - way to go boys!), we had only 1 KL's and only 3 KS's.    We had only 6 stolen bases thought, which means we weren't very aggressive on the bases today.   The Mets had 8 hits to our three, but we only walked 8 of their batters, where their pitchers walked 17 of our batters. Final score (due to a mix up) was Aces 9 - Mets 9.  See you at the next game, Tuesday at Thompson versus the Angels.

April 18th, 2010

This was our 3rd game, and our first at Thompson Field.   The team members are reminded to use the hand wipes after coming in from the field.    We struggled a bit with our attention on the field today, but the team eeked out a win.   We only recorded one hit (way to go Justin!), 3 KL's and 4 KS's.    We had 26 stolen bases.   Final score was Aces 12 - Green Sox 10.  See you at the next game, Tuesday at Thompson versus the Mets.

April 13th, 2010

Good 2nd Game versus Red Sox.  We were the visiting team today, which put us up to bat first.  It is interesting to see, that the kids settle in faster when they bat first!   We recorded only 1 KS's!!!!  We had 11 hits, including 2 doubles (Jordan and Uche).   We had 23 stolen bases.  Final score was Aces 13 - Red Sox 8.  See you at the practice - Thursday at the Gibbons batting cage.

April 11th, 2010

1st Game versus Blue Jays.  Great night for baseball.  Clear, and not too windy!   Although a little shaky on the fundamentals, our team was solid, and strong.  We recorded 4 KS's and 4 KL's!!!!  We had 3 hits, including 1 double (Peter).  We had 18 stolen bases.  Final score was Aces 13 - Blue Jays 10.  See you at the next game - Tuesday night.
