Meet Coach Mel: Let me take a moment to introduce myself. Some of you may already know me, but I know some of you do not. Softball has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. I started playing in 1st grade and didn't stop until I finished my collegiate career. I grew up "knowing" Mayville Softball. From playing in the rec dept leagues, traveling during summer ball, and playing four years of varsity softball at MHS, I feel privileged to have received the opportunity to play in a very strong tradition known as Mayville Softball. To this day, my fondest memory of playing softball was bringing home the first ever State Softball Championship to MHS as a senior in 1999 as the starting pitcher on the team. Playing college softball was also a dream of mine, and playing 4 years at Butler University fulfilled that dream. I received the opportunity to travel all over the nation and play against some of the best competition in the nation such as UNLV, Michigan, Purdue, and Kentucky to name a few. Along with this I also had the opportunity to play against the very best in the world as a pitcher on the Midwest All-Stars that played against the 2000 Gold Medal Olympic Team during their exhibition season prior to the Olympics. Upon completing my playing career, I knew I still loved the game and wanted to be involved as a coach. I coached varsity softball for 3 years at a large high school in Indianapolis, IN before moving back to Wisconsin. I feel that as a coach I can now share my passion and knowledge of the game with today's youth. I set high expectations for myself as a coach and for my teams. I believe in hard work and dedication, because without these things it is hard to take pride in one's own accomplishments. I am looking forward to sharing the "tradition" of Mayville Softball as the new Varsity Coach, just as I once knew 10 years ago. Good Luck to everyone this season!! GO CARDS!

Greetings Mayville Softball Players, Parents, and Fans! I would like to welcome everyone to the start of a new season! With expectations set high, I'm looking forward to an exciting and thrilling softball season! I hope everyone's working hard in the off-season! Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions! I look forward to our first meeting together! Please be sure to see the open gym schedule! This is your time to push yourself and make improvements before the upcoming season! Until then...In Sport...Coach Mel
