April 9th at Sun Prairie
The Lancer season got underway with a hard fought 4-2 loss to the home, and #4 ranked Cardinals. Tyler Flood (12) threw 6 strong innings while Casey Seelow (10) and John Thalaker (12) collected their first varsity hits, but it wasn't enough as Sun Prairie was able to capitalize with runner in scoring position.
April 10th vs. La Crosse Central
Game 1 saw the Lancers fall behind the #5 ranked Red Raiders 7-0 only to fight back and earn a 11-10 victory. The Lancers were paced by the strong relief effort of Griffin Lefeber (12) and some timely hitting, including a home run by John Thalaker (12).
Game 2 The Red Raiders bats came alive as they banged out 13 hits in a 6-3 win. How ever the Lancers kept the game close with a come back bid in the 7th ending with the bases loaded.
April 13th @ Janesville Craig
The Lancers got their 1st conference win of the seaon by defeating the Cougers 8-1 at Riverside Park. Nate Ricci (10) was 3-4 with a triple and 4 RBI, while Tyler Flood threw 5 strong innings to get the win.
April 17th @ Beloit Memorial
Game 1 played out like a bad movie for the Lancers as Purple Knights pitcher Colin Grove struck out 15 in seven innings of work. The lone bright spots for the Lancers were ringing doubles by Nate Ricci (10) and Tony Grannis (11).
Game 2 the Lancers were able to gain some much needed momentum and get out of Beliot with an 8-7 win and a series split. Tony Grannis (11) went 3-3, with two doubles and Taylor Carlson (11) hit his first career home run. Tyler Flood got the win pitching 2 innings in relief.
April 20th @ Middleton
Lead by an excellent pitching performance by Tyler Flood (12) and timely hitting, the Lancers upset the #2 Middleton Cardinals 4-3 in eight innings at Middleton High School. Flood went 7 strong innings and was 3-4 at the plate. The winning run was scored by John Thalaker (12), who missed a home run by inches, was allowed to score when the throw get him at 3rd base from the outfield went out of play. Jon Dybevik (12) struck out the side in the bottom of the 8th to save the win.
