The tryouts this Friday at Springwood will be rain or shine as we have access to an indoor training facility.  Please dress warm as some of the tryouts will be played after sunset under the lights.  


I will also be making an announcement about the up coming UBC Camp in October as well.

UBC Fall Softball Development Camp

Oceanside Softball is pleased to announce we will be host another camp with UBC Head Coach Gord Collings and the players from the UBC Varsity team October 22, 23 in Arbutus Meadows.  This two day camp will focus on the fundamentals of the game and developing new skills.  Arbutus Meadows is a state of the art indoor facility that is sure to impress.

Cost: $85

Register @ 

Saturday October 22       10:00 to 3:00

Sunday October 23          10:00 to 3:00

Gord Collings will also be hosting a Q&A about the UBC program for coaches, parents and athletes.

Welcome: Dallas Flynn

NCCP Level Two Coach

She has been coaching for 8 years with the Okotoks Outlaws.  

Her playing background is as follows

1988-1994 - played catcher, first and third base for the White Rock Renegades
1989 - played for Team BC at the Canada Summer Games in Saskatoon (silver medal)
1990-1995 - played catcher and first base for Simon Fraser University on a full ride scholarship
Played for Team Canada Developmental Team in 1991 for the Tri-Nation Tour with China, Japan and Canada
Made it to 2 Colorado Silver Bullets spring training camps in Florida - a try out camp for the only Women's Professional Baseball Team who played against men

We are very excited to add a coach with a back catching background.  We now have four qualified coaches which will give players more one on one training time thru out the season.   If possible we will be adding one more coach to the mix for this upcoming season.

Try outs can be stressful, but it is Oceanside Softballs intent to create tryouts that are instructional, as well as, enjoyable.  Our goal is to choose the best players for our program based on the collective experience of coaches and evaluators.

Choosing teams is a demanding, time consuming, and a delicate process that each coach in our program take very seriously.  The decisions we make are thoroughly examined with the “OVERALL PROGRAM” and long term player development in mind.  All coaches will have input into the final decisions made in choosing the team.

We are please to annouce that we will be continuing our winter training program at Arbutus Meadows.  Training will start on Fridays in late October.  For a full schedule please check the team calendar.
