Great Regular Season 8-2 record!

Practice Wednesday 6PM--Alford Elementary

Playoff Game 10/13 at 11:30 AM Bethesda.  Please be at the park no later than 10:45 AM.  We play FSU.  We will flip for home/away.

Miami 17,Bama 15

Tough game today against Miami.

In the top of the first, Miami scored 5 runs on some hard hits and some luck hitting the pitching machine for what would have been out #3.  In the bottom half, we scored 5 runs to tie the game.  Branan led off with a hit, followed by a single for Alex to drive Branan in.  Dawson nearly left the yard with a long fly to left center for a double.  Jonah followed with a line drive double to center to knock in Alex and Dawson.  Jalen followed with a single to drive in Jonah.  After a strikeout, David followed with a double to knock Jalen in for 5 big runs.  After 1 Bama 5, Miami 5

In the top of the second, we got 2 quick outs on Miami, but could not get the final out of the inning and Miami put up 5 more.  In the bottom half, we could only muster 1 run on hits by Mitch and Will.

In the top of the 3rd, Miami scored 3 runs on some nicely placed hits.  In the bottom half we put a 4 spot on the board to keep us in the game.  Branan and Alex had singles to get on base and Dawson hit his second double of the game to score Branan.  Jonah followed with a single to drive in 2 more. Jalen had a single to drive in Jonah.  Griffin and David got hits, but questionable decisions by the 3rd base coach ran us out of the inning with 2 players getting thrown out at the plate.  The kids did what they were told and ran. Good job guys!  After 3 Bama 10, Miami 13

In the top of the 4th, Miami scored all they need by putting up 4 on nicely placed hits...another hitting the machine and a few swinging bunts.  Even though we could not win the game, our kids didn't give up the fight.  We put 5 on the board to let them know they don't want to face us in the playoffs.  Brandon got us started with a double to right center.  Calvin knocked him with a nice line drive to right field.   Mitch knock in Calvin with a triple to center field.  Will knocked in his brother for his second hit of the game!  Anthony had a HUGE hit to keep the inning going. Great job Anthony!  Runners on 1st and 2nd with no outs. Branan grounded to 3rd and the 3rd basement stepped on the bag for 1 out.  After a strikeout, Dawson had a single to load the bases.  Technically a grand slam would have tied the game, but we can only score 5 in the inning.  Jonah hit the ball hard and had a triple to drive in more runs and the 5th run of the inning to end the game.  Final score Miami 17, Bama 15.

We didn't play defense like we normally do, but give Miami credit, they hit the ball hard and in good spots.  3 Balls hit the machine that would/should have been outs, but that is baseball and the ball didn't bounce our way today.  The kids didn't give up and we scored 15 runs on 23 hits.  We only struck out 4 times all game!  That is a great improvment.

The following players were perfect at the plate:  Dawson, Jonah, Jalen, David, Mitch and Will!  Great job guys.  Alex, and Branan were 2 for 3.  Griffin, Brandon, Calvin, and Anthony were all 1 for 2.  Everyone on the team got at least 1 hit today for the first time all season!  If we hit the ball like that in the playoffs, no one will want to play us.

I was very proud today of our attitude and not giving up. We hung tough and win or lose they had fun!
