The weather got the best of the Raiders during the Buckeye Elite tournament. Due to rainouts, only the top 8 of 96 teams made it to the championship round on Sunday. The Raiders finished 2nd in their four team pool. For the three games played, they beat the Watterson Legion Post 82 team by a score of 3-1, lost to the pool winners Fox Valley Royals (IL) 9-4, and wrapped up the tournament with an impressive 7-0 shutout of the Ohio Hurricanes.
The Raiders went 3-1 in pool play in the (21 Team) Midwest Classic over the 4th of July Weekend. For the second straight tournament, the Raiders advanced to the championship round by winning their pool. The Raiders defeated the Xtreme Yankees (6-5) in the quarterfinals. However, the Raiders fell short in the semifinals against the Dayton Dodgers (10-3) and finished in a tie for third with the Cincinnati Tigers.
In a field of 28 teams throughout the Midwest, the Raiders go 3-1 in pool play to win their pool and was seeded 7th, making it into the 12 team playoff round earning a shot at the title. Unfortunately, the Raiders came up a short in the first round of the playoffs and finished the tournament 3-2 overall. Kudos to the boys for playing hard all 5 games.
Made up of some of the best 16U, 17U & 18U baseball talent in the Dayton Ohio area, the 2010 Dayton Raiders. They will play in Cincinnati's 18U Southwest Ohio League (SWOL). We will also play in several tournaments throughout the Midwest.
