#2 - Bishops (12-4) @ #1 - Pattenburg House (15-1)

Playoff News and Notes: The Pattenburg House got 3-for-3's from Scott Farrell, Rich Ihling and Rich Bergmann as they rolled over the Tow Truckers ... Both Rich's Homered and were helped out by 2-for-2's from Mike and Ryan McKinney as well as Jim Stanley as they won their Quarterfinal Match-Up 22-10
      #2 - Bishops handled the Perryville Wine & Spirits crew 17-7 over at Bundt Park as expected ... #-3 Country Griddle held a precarious 5-4 lead heading into the Bottom of the 7th but Harley Davidson had men on 2nd & 3rd with two outs ... They walked the #3 Hitter intentionally to get HD Veteran Rob Hasselbrook ... 

       And "Hassey" made them pay ... It was not the hardest hit ball but his basehit to RF did the trick as the runner from second 'raced' Home with the Game Winning Run and sent home a disgusted Country Griddle for the year ... Their Burners are now off til next Spring .... 6-5 Harley advanced to the Semis

     The RVI had a tight game with the Annandale Hose but pulled away just enough late to win it 8-5 and avance to the Semis ... The Championship Series was supposed to be on Sunday the 19th but because games were cancelled a little too early on the 10th, the 19th became "Semi-Final Sunday"

    First up was #2 vs #3 ... Not much of a contest as Harley Davidson could not capitalize on their thrilling Friday Night "W" ... All the momentum wore Grey ... 12-1 Bishops in a rout
     Later, it was the RVI taking on longtime rival, The Pattenburg House ... Although it has not been much of a rivalry lately ... Most of that happened when TPH was Miller's Tavern ... In 2 Regular Season Games this year, TPH outscored the RVI 35-7 ... 
    So although they preferred not to play without their Captain, Starting Pitcher and Leadoff Hitter as well as their #2 Starter and best Defensive OF among others, RVI would not move the game so it remained a 4pm start at Bundt Park ... Whereas in years past, the Higher Seed has always had choice of Fields up until the Finals..
     TPH still felt comfortable they could get the job done but it wasn't easy ... RVI got 3 in the First Inning and 7 in the 2nd and led 10-5 after 1 1/2 ... TPH answered with 7 of their own including a Grand Slam from Jon Shafer (5-for-5 w/10 RBI in the game)
    Shafer's Ball is probably just a Flyball at Foran #3 where TPH wanted the game played but RVI must've known they had a powerful line-up coming Sunday and that's why they wanted to keep things at Bundt as they launched 5 HR's themselves in the game ...

   The Stripper Dudes got 4 in the Top of the 5th to retake the lead at 15-13 ... However it was short-lived as The House got 5 in their Half of the 5th and 7 more in the 6th to put the game away ... RVI did scratch one across in the 7th but it was too little, too late ...25-16 Pattenburg

    Kevin "If The Shoe" Fitzsimmons also went 5-for-5 as did "Rappin" Rodney Monteleone (With a Homer) while Jim "Hang" Mannion went 4-for-4 for the Burger Bunch ... So now it all comes down to this, 1 Game for all the Marbles ... Bundt Park, Friday Night August the 24th ... 6pm ... Bishops vs Pattenburg House!!!!!
