Posted Aug 10/12 - Final Two Teams Set to Play Saturday

British Columbia and the Prairies Will Meet in the Championship Final

“Challenger” Game to be played before the Championship Final

The Canadian Little League Championship has been set after the semi-final games played on Friday.

British Columbia Champion Hastings All Stars defeated Atlantic Champion Glace Bay Colonels 5 – 0 in the first semi final game, and Prairie Champion Lethbridge Southwest All Stars beat Ontario Champion High Park Braves 4 – 3. As a result, British Columbia will face the Prairies in the Championship final at 1:00 pm at John Fry Park. The winner of this game will go on to represent Canada at the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania from August 16-26.

In the consolation final, the Quebec Champion NDG Lynx ended their tournament by defeating Host Team Mill Woods White Sox 5-2.

In addition to the Championship Final, the 2012 Canadian Little League Championship will feature a challenger baseball game on the same diamond at John Fry Park at 10:00 am. The Challenger Division was established in 1989 as a separate division of Little League to enable boys and girls with special needs to enjoy the game of baseball along with the millions of other children who participate in this sport worldwide. They will be joined by players from teams that did not make it to the Championship final to act as “buddies” for the Challenger players. We strongly encourage the public & media to come and be involved in this uniquely-rewarding division of Little League baseball.

The following is the schedule for Saturday’s playoff games & events;

10:00 AM: Challenger Exhibition baseball game

1:00 PM: Championship Final - Hastings All Stars (B.C.) vs. Lethbridge Southwest All Stars (Prairies)

2:30 - 3:00 PM (approx. following Championship game): Closing Ceremonies - Championship Trophy and medal presentations.

The 2012 Canadian Little League Championship Tournament began on Saturday August 4th and will conclude with the Championship Final on Saturday August 11th. The tournament consists of six (6) teams from the five Little League regions in Canada plus a host team. The five regions are British Columbia, the Prairies, Ontario, Quebec and the Atlantic Region.

Posted Aug 8/12 - Playoff Round Matchups Are Now Set

The playoff round has been set after the final game of the round robin portion of the tournament finished Wednesday night. The final game between the Quebec and the Host Team was suspended due to lightning and heavy rain, and was ultimately called an official game by the organizers.
