A tight game was decided in the eighth inning as East fell to Slinger 12-7 in eight innings on Thursday at River Road. Carlitos Salazar paced East at the plate. Carlitos went 3-5 and scored one run. He singled in the second and fourth innings and doubled in the sixth inning. #8 got the win in relief for Slinger. #8 pitched 4 1/3 innings and allowed two runs. The top of the first saw Slinger take an early lead, 2-0. #7 doubled to ignite Slinger's offense. A single by #1 then moved #7 from second to third. #9 singled, scoring #7. More runs came home for Slinger when scored on a groundout by #12. Slinger matched its one-run fourth inning with one more in the sixth. In the fourth, Slinger scored on an error, plating #7. East Suns Freshman scored six runs of its own in the fourth. East Suns Freshman scored on a hit by pitch, a bases loaded walk by Jake Baumann, a walk by Spencer Rittmann, and a three-run double by Nick Rosenthal. The game's last lead went to Slinger thanks to a eighth inning rally that saw six runs cross the plate on a two-run double by #7, two errors, and a two-run single by #4. |
