Notes:
Braves improve to 5-4 by beating a young Conway team 11-10 on our home field. JV's had to do it in comeback style as they staked the visitors to a 10-3 lead before scoring eight runs over the last three innings. Trailing by a run entering the final frame, the Braves loaded the bases, and with one out, scored the tying run courtesy of a Tyler Dillon hit-by-pitch, and the winning run on a Chase Keevert base on balls. It was the young Braves supplying the hitting muscle in this contest as ten of the teams twelve hits came from our middle school players, including solo homers from Dalton Smith and Kyle Smith. Contributing at the plate were Dalton Smith (3-4, 2b, hr, r, 4rbi), Kyle Smith (3-4, hr, 3r, rbi), Dylan Thompson (2-4, 2r), Cole Cook (1-3, hbp, 2rbi), Hunter Renfrow (1-3, bb, 2r), Hayden Miller (1-4, r), and Josh Davis (1-2). Chase Keevert started on the mound for Socastee and Dylan Thompson and Trevor Bigham threw three scoreless innings of relief, with Bigham recording the win. |
