Notes:
Playing at their alternative home field in Hollandale, Pecatonica took the lead against New Glarus #2 in the 1st inning and never looked back. With D. Conwell taking the mound for Pec, New Glarus #2 got on the board first with 2 runs scored on a single and a walk. Conwell would strike out three other batters, leaving three runners on base, to keep NG#2's lead slim. From there, Pec's batters would load the bases on two walks and a single after which J. Melvin's high flying triple to left field would help Pec take the lead. Several more runs would score on walks, and Tollackson would steal home. Then with two on base, D. Conwell slapped to center field for his own triple and 2 RBIs. In the bottom of the 2nd, after keeping NG#2 scoreless, Pec would again take advantage of numerous walks and increase the lead by 7 off of two RBI-earning singles by N. Loyd and J. Scoville, respectively. In the 3rd, G. Daley would reach first on a single and later score off J. Tollackson's walk with bases loaded and two outs, but Pec's scoring ended there when on the next play, Tollackson would get caught off the bag in an unassisted double play when the next batter hit a line drive right to the first baseman. In the bottom of the 4th, Pec would score its final run when J. Scoville crossed home plate off a double hit by J. Melvin. The game was called on the 10-run rule in the 5th, keeping Pec undefeated thus far in the season. |
