Game Notes: Pecatonica's rally came a too late to overcome a 6-run deficit on the road against New Glarus.

In the 1st inning, Pecatonica batters, J. Hendrickson and J. Melvin reached base on an error and a walk, but others failed to bring them home by grounding out or striking out. However, the home team would get on the board when, with bases loaded and two outs, Pecatonica first baseman, N. Loyd bobbled a ball hit to him, which allowed all runners to advance one base. It was a lead that New Glarus would not relinquish.

In the 2nd, Pecatonica loaded the bases on walks but would again fall short with three strike outs. New Glarus, however, increased its lead when, despite two outs, TJ Duerst knocked a double to left centerfield for an RBI. After two more runners crossed home plate on walks, Pecatonica's coach changed pitchers: N. Loyd took the mound while J. Hendrickson manned first base. The next batter hit a grounder that Hendrickson easily fielded for an unassisted putout at first.

In the top of the 3rd, Pecatonica would leave two runners on base and remain scoreless, while New Glarus would again increase its lead. The first two batters hit singles past shortstop, D. Conwell, and second baseman, J. Tollackson. Then, the third batter hit a double to right centerfield earning 1 RBI. That batter would advance to third and a second runner scored when outfielder, J. Debord, errored on a throw to third. Relief pitcher, N. Loyd's wild pitch sent the next batter to first, but he would then find the strike zone, striking out the next three straight batters to end the innings and cut short New Glarus' scoring chances.

In the 4th and 5th innings, Pecatonica would load the bases only to fall short each time as other batters struck out. Defensively, however, the tide had turned for the Vikings as N. Loyd pitched back-to-back no-hit innings, striking out three straight batters in both.

In the top of the 6th, Pecatonica rallied offensively when the first two batters (A. Kovacs and J. Debord) reached base on balls. Then, a double hit by J. Scoville and a single by J. Hendrickson brought two runs, preventing a New Glarus shut-out. But the runs wouldn't be enough to overcome New Glarus' lead, and Pecatonica fell short to record their third loss of the season by a final score of 6 to 2.

Player of the Game - N. Loyd - 9 straight Strikeouts
