Game
Notes:
Kelowna Cubs used outstanding pitching and powerful bats to silence the Thunder 17-1 in the opening game of the Best of the West Tournament in Penticton Thursday night. Jason Gradidge threw a no-hitter, striking out six and allowing only four baserunners. Meanwhile his teammates scored early, with three runs in the first inning. Then the Cubs pounded out three home runs by Brett Sanguin, Jamie Newmarch and Tristan Collins in the second inning to break the game wide open. Newmarch finished with five rbi's, with a double and single to go along with his homer. Sanguin, Spencer Kilpatrick, Mike Persson and Jordan Cheveldave had two-hit games for the Cubs, while everyone in the starting lineup had at least one rbi. Kelowna plays North Shore Twins tomorrow at 11:45 am.
