Penticton Thunder got their first win in the BC Premier League season, beating the Kelowna Cubs 7-4 at Elks Stadium Wednesday night. Kelowna jumped into an early lead with two runs in the first. Penticton took the lead in the third, when Blayne Poriere hit a bases-loaded triple to score three runs. Three more in the sixth sealed the Thunder victory. Joel Graf and Dave Parker split the mound duties for Penticton, and both pitched effectively. Ryan Mercredie and Bryce Wilkie had two hits for the Thunder. Jason Gradidge was the losing pitcher for the Cubs. Jordan Cheveldave was the only Kelowna player with two hits.
