Game
Notes:
Marc Gregoire's pinch hit single in the bottom of the sixth inning provided the margin of victory, as Coquitlam Reds edged the Kelowna Cubs in the first game of a BC Premier League doubleheader Sunday at Elks Stadium. The Cubs got off to a shaky start, committing two errors in the first to give the Reds a 2-0 lead. Jordan Cheveldave singled and eventually scored on a Jason Gradidge sacrifice fly to bring the Cubs within one in the fourth. Then in the fifth, the Cubs moved ahead when Tyler Klein singled, Cam Kryzanowski got on base on a fielder's choice, then both scored on passed balls. Then in the sixth, Cubs' starter Cody Valgardson, who had pitched five strong innings, walked three Reds, setting up Gregoire's timely single. Kurtis Schumaker scattered four hits to pick up the win on the mound for Coquitlam.
