Notes:
The team once again bolted out of the gates and scored a quick goal by Jacob Gannon with the assist provided by Dan. The offense line during the 1st period of Ethan and Evan also put a ton of pressure on the opposing team by keeping the ball on their side of the field for most of the period. Richi, Jake Hyman and Josh made sure that the ball stayed on their side of the field as they continued to stop the offensive drives of the other team. In goal, Matthew M. was kept quiet with only a few saves. However, he aggressively challenged any kickers from the other side as he played the entire goalie box. In the 2nd period, Josh, Richi, Dan and Jake Hyman kept the pressure on the other team as Alec, Matt M. and Drew kept the ball away from our goalie, Matt L. As the coaches have said before, we prefer the goalie to make no saves which means that the defensive line is doing its job. In the 3rd period, Matt M. took a nice pass from Jake Hyman and scored the team's second goal. Alec and Drew also had some impressive drives to the goal and once again kept the pressure on the other team's defense. Matt L., Ethan and Jacob Gannon ensured that no balls reached Evan in goal. During the 2nd half, the team reinforced its defense and only allowed 1 or 2 shots on goal as Dan, Richi, Josh, Alec, Matt L., Drew, Ethan, Jacob Gannon and Evan stopped almost all the other team's offensive drives. Ethan in goal in the 5th period made a tremendous save to keep the shutout. Jake Hyman and Dan in goal the other periods were able to relax as Matt L., Ethan, Jacob Gannon, Evan, Richi, Josh, Matt M., Alec and Drew were able to control the offense. |
