Game Notes: On Sunday, the team clearly forgot about the game on Saturday and came to play. Starting on offense was the dynamic duo of Drew and Alec who were also joined by the Minion brothers. The coaches saw some nifty plays by these players and they controlled the ball for most of the 1st period. On defense, Richi, Jacob and Evan kept Jake in goal quiet. In the 2nd period, Jake, Evan, Ethan and Jacob led the offense and after taking his falls on Saturday, Jacob opened the scoring for the team with a nice pass from Jake. On defense, Josh, Dan and Matt M. played great keeping the ball away from Richi as the other team did not take any shots on goal. In the 3rd period, Matt M., Dan, Jake and Richi controlled the ball for almost the entire period but were unable to score. However, the opposing team was able to somehow sneak the ball across the defensive wall of Drew, Ethan and Josh and Alec made an awesome attempt with his hands to stop a shot but the strong kick went off Alec’s hand and as Alec raced to the net to stop the ball, the ball went into the net. Nonetheless, Alec kept his composure and continued in goal for the remainder of the period.

In the 4th period, the offense really woke up as Drew played his best period of the season as he raced down the field several times in an attempt to score. Jacob, Ethan and Josh also were aggressive on offense and that resulted in both Jacob and Ethan scoring goals and assisted in the scores. I believe this was Ethan’s first assist. Congrats! Richi, Dan and Matt M. played great defense which contributed to the 2 scores. In goal, Evan had a quiet time which he well deserved. In the 5th period, Matt M., Evan, Dan and Drew once again controlled the offense but were not able to score. Ethan, Josh and Richi played great defense and Jacob once again played his aggressive goal style.

In the 6th period, Jake, Alec, Ethan and Richi took over the offense. Jake had been positioning himself all game in the middle on offense and took several shots on goal. However, towards the end of the game, he took a nice pass from Ethan and scored his first goal of the season and his career. Ethan netted his 2nd assist of the game and season! Drew, Jacob and Evan kept the ball away from Dan which allowed Dan to almost take a nap for the 7 minutes he was in goal!
