The Vikings clinched the NBL title in a cold, rainy, Friday night game that was the wildest game imagineable. The game started in a light rain at 7:15 pm, and seemed to be in hand, as the Vikings cruised to a 5-1 lead going into the bottom of the 7th, with Colgan on the mound. The Ukiah Wildcats, however, rallied for 4 runs to tie the game in the bottom of the 7th, and had the winning run on 3rd, before Colgan closed out the inning, with his 11th strikeout. The Vikings scored 3 in the top of the 8th, only to have Ukiah come back with 3 more in the bottom of the 8th to tie the game. At one point, it appeared Ukiah won the game, and began a wild celebration, but a ball hit down the line which Mitchell fieled, but threw away, was called foul by "Jimmy" the home plate ump. In the 9th, Colgan, Mitchell, Moug and Routh had clutch hits to put 4 more on the board (Routh had 4 RBI's in the game), and Drew Moug came on in the 9th with 2 on and no out, to finally close the game out at nearly 11:00 pm. A game for the ages.
