What a way to come back from the frustrating game at Hopkins and play our best baseball to beat one of the best teams in the state at this level! The Thunder went punch for punch with Eden Prairie for 7 innings. Fortunately for us we were able to get the one clutch hit that they were not able to get. Thanks to Kyle "Barrel O' Monkeys" Rush, who delivered the game winning RBI single for the Thunder in the 5th. Other notable offensive performances on this night came from Loren "Lego Land" Muraca who was 2-2 with a double and 2 runs scored and Brendan "WOLFMAN" Kukowski who was 1-3 and an RBI. An errorless night in the field can mean a world of difference in a game. Especially in a game where the opposing pitcher seems to have your number. That's exactly what we were able to do. Chris "Hunger Games" Casey, Andy "Coo Coo" Glockner and Ryan "Party Planner" Heisler were key on defense for us to get the W. Lastly but certainly not least, The combined outing by our pitchers, Jake "McLovin" Bechstein and Chris "Lancelot" Ferber didnt allow EP to get comfortable in the box. Bechstein went 3 innings and got the no decision. Ferber pitched 4 scoreless innings of relief, picked up the win and contributed in a big way to get the win! Coach Jake is very pleased with this one. |
