| Game Notes: The Thunder advanced to the winner's bracket of the State Tournament with a 12-2 win over North Division champion Tri-City. Righthander Jake Kruegel (3-2) went the route, yielding no earned runs and four hits, all singles. He faced just 26 batters on the day, striking out six and walking three. Nick "the Quick" Molitor had four hits; Pat "Fast Money" Coyne had two hits, two RS and two SB; Beau "Ichibeau" Jacobson went 3-for-5 and scored three times; and Kruegel helped his own cause with two hits, 3RS and 2RBI. John Grotkin knocked in two and Jeremy JJ" McKay and Brady Lindemann added RBI for the club. Mitch Haug led the defense with a pair of web gems in support of Kruegel. The Thunder will face the winner of Saturday morning's Apple Valley-Cretin game at 3:00. Righthander Brad "B-Train" Landgrebe gets the ball. | ||||||||||
