| Game Notes: The Thunder (2-2) won its second straight game, beating division rival Eagan 10-1 at Legion Field Wednesday night. Brad "B-Train" Landgrebe, "Easy" Eddie Hagberg (1-1) and Matt Neutz combined on a five-hitter and were backed by the second consecutive errorless game by the defense. The Thunder trailed 1-0 early, then exploded for a season-high nine run fourth inning. Beau "Ichibeau" Jacobson (1B, 2B) and John Grotkin (21B, 2B) led off with singles and Jacobson came home when JJ McKay (2RBI) reached on an error. Grotkin later scored on Jake Kruegel's fielder's choice. Brady Lindemann and Adam Yahnke walked to load the bases, and Kruegel came home when Matt Neutz was HBP. Nick "the Quick" Molitor walked to force home another run, setting the stage for Hagberg's three-run double to right field. Jacobson and Grotkin delivered back-to-back doubles to tally two more runs for the Thunder. In the sixth, Landgrebe drew a one-out walk and came home on McKay's ground-out to close the scoring. Grotkin had his first three-hit game and Jacobson his second multi-hit game of the season. The club will have the next four days off before meeting Eastview Blue in a doubleheader on Monday at Legion Field. | ||||||||||
