| Game Notes: The Thunder rallied late to upend Burnsville 12-8. Dan Coyle got the win in relief, pitching the final two frames and retiring the usually potent Python offense in order with two strikeouts. The Thunder offense, which ended up with 20 hits, was quiet much of the evening as the club found itself trailing 8-0 with the potential game-ending run in scoring position in the fifth. After Joel Bertelsen got the third out, the Thunder tallied four in the sixth to half the deficit before erupting for eight in the seventh to take the lead. Pete "Z-Man" Zukanoff had a season-high three RBI and Bertelsen (4-for-4), Andy Gensch and Cory Meyer all knocked in two apiece. Spencer Pratt had a three-hit night; Adam Shie, Robbie Sikich and Tom Bauer all had multi-hit games. The club has Tuesday off before opening the State Tournament Wednesday against West Division play-off runner-up Edina. | ||||||||||
