The Thunder won its fourth straight, beating Richfield 10-0 in six innings to open the Minnetonka Tournament at Veteran's Field Friday night. The victory was the team's third in a row by the ten-run rule. Righthander Adam "Iceman" Shie (2-0) went all six innings and spun a four-hit shutout. He struck out four, walked two and lowered his ERA to 0.96. Call-up Cody Groskreutz debuted with a three-for-three day, including a triple, two runs scored and three RBI. Cory Meyer (2SAC,RS,3B) drove in a season-high three runs and Pete "Z-Man" Zukanoff scored three from the lead-off spot. Andy Gensch and Tom Bauer (SB,RS) each had two hits; Dan Coyle and Sam "Five-Spot" Foy knocked in a run apiece, and Joel Bertelsen, Casey Jacobson (RS)and Spencer Pratt (RS) all added hits for the club. Every player with a plate appearance had at least one hit and the offense totaled 18 baserunners in six innings. The Thunder (9-3-1, 6-2-1) will face North Division foe Coon Rapids Saturday for the right to play in the tournament championship game Sunday. Righthander Casey Jacobson takes the bump seeking his third win of the season.
