Game
Notes:
The Thunder (2-0, 3-0) rallied from an early deficit to take the lead, then held off Burnsville late to win 5-4. Rookie righthander Adam Shie (1-0) pitched three innings to pick up the win in relief of starter Spencer Pratt, who yielded three runs on eight hits and struck out three. Toeing the rubber for the first time in a Thunder uniform, Shie was anything but as he gave up just two hits and a single run with no walks. In a familiar script in the recent history of the two clubs, the Pythons took a 3-1 lead into the fifth, only to watch the Thunder tally a single run in that frame and two more in the sixth, followed by a big insurance run in the 7th. Casey Jacobson (2RS, SB,RBI) went 4-for-4 and both Peter "Z-Man" Zukanoff (RS) and Tom Bauer had two hit days and an RBI. Sam Foy and Robbie Sikich each knocked in a run and scored once. With the win, the Thunder advanced to the winner's bracket of the tournament to face hot-hitting Shoreview, who upset defending SBR state champion Minnetonka, 9-7.
