BAD BOYS 1002000352
Cortizone Baseball Club 301202X8101
Game Notes: Just six days after rolling over to Cortizone 11-0, the Bad Boys had a chance at redemption. It wouldn't be easy though. The Bad Boys entered the game batting .240 as a team, and they would be without 3 of their top 6 hitters. In an attempt to jumpstart the offense Matt Aukland was placed in the lead-off spot. That move payed immediate dividends. Aukland reached first on an infield single. He would not stay there long. Aukland stole second for his league leading 7th stolen base. He then reached third on Steve Putman's ground out to the right side. When Jeremy Acree singled him home the Bad Boys had given Cortizone their first deficit of the season. Acree, who finished 2-2, raised his average to .400 and leads the team with 5 RBI. The Bad Boys lead would be short lived. An error in the bottom half of the 1st led to a 3 run inning. A two out, 2 RBI double by Marc Grenon in the top of the 4th cut Cortizone's lead to 4-3. That's as close as the Bad Boys would get. Starting pitcher Jared Podruchny (1-2) did a good job in keeping Cortizone off-balance, striking out 5 in 5 innings. Once again, the Bad Boys were snake bitten by the walk, issuing 10 walks in six innings. All in all the Bad Boys gave the undefeated Cortizone Baseball Club their toughest test of the season. No consolation prizes here though, the Bad Boys lose 8-3 dropping their record to 2-4-1.
