BAD BOYS 2001000120682
Tacoma Grizz 10104000017135
Game Notes: It's been an evenly matched game every time the Grizz and Bad Boys have gotten together. Today would be no different. The Bad Boys jumped on top in the first with 2 runs scoring on a Grizz error. In the bottom half of the first, the Grizz were held to one run thanks to the web gem turned in by right fielder Steve Sloboda. With two men on, and one out, the Grizz' #5 hitter blasted a ball to the right centerfield gap. Sloboda layed out parellel to the ground and came up with the catch. He would pay dearly, though. Sloboda jammed his left shoulder into the ground, and was replaced in right field. As of press time, no MRI results have been reported. He did stay in the game offensively and go 1-3 the rest of the way. After the Grizz added another in the third to tie the score at 2, Danny Clemans doubled home Travis Thomas to regain the lead. It was Cleman's first hit and RBI as a Bad Boy. Through 4 the Bad Boys had a 3-2 lead yet had struck out 10 times. That's 10 of the 12 possible outs. The Bad Boys woud go on to strike out 17 times on the day.

Bad Boy starting pitcher Jared Podruchny(0-0) went 4 solid innings before the fateful third time through the order. The Grizz went 6-8 off Podruchny the third time through before he was eventually lifted for Marc Grenon. After 4 games Bad Boy starters are getting hit at a .629 clip the third time through the order. Grenon shut the door, but the damage had already been done. A 4 run inning left the Bad Boys with a 3 run deficit.

In the eighth, Josh Hoke led off with a walk. He promptly stole second and third base. Two batters later, Grenon scored him on a ground ball to the right side. Going into the ninth, the Bad Boys trailed by two.

In the ninth, Matt Aukland led off with a walk. He stole second and advanced to third on a passed ball. Jeremy Acree doubled him home. On his birthday, Acree went 2-4 with a double, RBI, and 2 runs scored. Two batters later, Tony Romero would single home Acree. Romero's off to a fantastic start to his Bad Boy career. He's hit safely in all of his first four games, and is currently hitting .417. The Bad Boys would leave the bases loaded in the ninth, bringing back flashbacks of the infamous tie game versus the Grizz in '09. The Bad Boys stranded 11 runners on the day.

Closer Brian Airey(0-1) made quick work of the top of the Grizz order in the bottom of the ninth, 1, 2, 3. But then the bottom of the Orange Hats order struck out in succession. In the bottom of the tenth, Bad Boy shortstop Zac Larson was taken out at second while attempting to turn an inning ending double play. That was crucial. A stolen base followed by a single and that's all she wrote. Bad Boys' relievers were stellar, though. Grenon and Airey went a combined 5 innings allowing only 3 hits, 2 walks, and that lone run.

Four games in the book, and the Bad Boys will take their 0-4 record to Olympia HS on Wednesday to battle the 3-1 Capital City Bombers.
