Windsor Forest Knight Baseball
Policies and Regulations

I. PURPOSE FOR YOUR BEING AT Windsor Forest HIGH SCHOOL:
a. To get an education and to graduate from this school, and hopefully, to go on and get an advanced degree.
b. To participate in the baseball program, and to assist your team in winning the District Championship. At the same time, with a little determination and ability, an opportunity to play baseball at the next level.
c. To develop lifelong friends in an atmosphere of cordiality and purpose, both on and off the field.


II. COACHING STAFF’S RESPONSIBILITIES TO ASSIST YOU WITH THE ABOVE. WE WILL DO THIS BY:
a. Monitoring your courses and grades to insure that you are doing the work necessary to achieve graduation.
b. Give you the best possible baseball education to assure that you respond properly on the playing field so that your team may achieve the goal of winning the District Championship, and to allow you the opportunity to develop skills to make you more attractive to college scouts.
c. Place you in a proper environment, both on and off the field, so that you may be allowed every opportunity to enjoy your stay at Windsor Forest High School.

III. TEAM RULE
a. “DO NOTHING THAT WOULD EMBARRASS YOUR SCHOOL, COACHING STAFF, TEAM OR FAMILY ON OR OFF THE PLAYING FIELD.” REMEMBER TO ALWAYS “REPRESENT.”
b. ALL 9TH, 10TH AND 11TH GRADE WINDSOR FOREST BASEBALL PLAYERS ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO PLAY SUMMER BASEBALL! WINDSOR FOREST HIGH SCHOOL WILL HAVE A SUMMER TEAM AND INVITE ALL PLAYERS TO PARTICIPATE. IF YOU CANNOT PARTICIPATE YOU NEED TO TELL THE COACHING STAFF BEFORE HIGH SCHOOL TRY-OUTS. PLEASE INVESTIGATE AND INQUIRE ABOUT ANY PROGRAM( BESIDES THE WINDSOR FOREST SUMMER TEAM) AND THE COACHES OF ANY PROGRAM YOU ARE CHOSING TO LET YOUR SON BECOME A PART OF. REMEMBER THAT SUMMER BASEBALL SHOULD PREPARE PLAYERS FOR HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL AND FOR THE NEXT LEVEL. THEREFORE QUALIFIED COACHES ARE A MUST!

IV. THINGS THAT WOULD BRING EMBARRASSMENT:
a. Skipping class
b. Excessive absents
c. Excessive tardiness
d. Not having a clean cut appearance
e. Disrespect of coaching staff
f. Yelling at another player
g. Alcohol, smoking, or drugs
h. Bad report from a teacher
i. In-school or out-of- suspension
j. Late to practice
k. Missed practice (injured or not)
l. Throwing equipment
m. “Show-up” coaches/players or other team
n. Absolutely NO negative communication with an umpire will be tolerated on this team!! This includes verbal, gestures and body language. The head coach is the only one who should ever show any disapproval of an official and will show it in a respectful way.
o. Losing equipment
p. Inappropriate practice uniform (WINDSOR FOREST colors)
q. Players are not to communicate or accept food from parents or other people in the stands after they have entered the field. FANS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THE DUGOUT DURING A GAME FOR ANY REASON
r. Other coaches working with our kids ( Without our knowledge)

V. PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION OF TEAM RULES
a. Motivational Conditioning Program
b. Suspension of games
c. Dismissal from team

******In the event that a parent or player wants to talk with the coaching staff, he or she can meet with the staff at the school before, after or possibly even in the school day. You need to make an appointment to have a meeting. Out of respect, meetings are not advised on the playing field or after a loss of a game. ***********
