Mar. 29- Welcome to the South Side Lady Hawks website. I hope to be able to keep fans and players informed of all the happenings in our family. Just to update you on what has happened so far this season. We are currently 4-6-1 on the season. Our tournament got rained out today which will hurt us but we will make do. We are 0-1 in the district as we started with last year's state runner-up. We have shown what we can do when we play great ball, and we have shown what we can do when we get down. We are a very young but talented team, and continue to get better with each day. Coach Shack and I are excited about where this team is capable of going and the rest of this season. Good night and lets look forward to Chester Co. DTH

Mar. 31- Today was a fun day. Today was a day for the players to forget about everything and go out and have a fun time together as a team. The rain pushed us inside. We played a game of whiffle ball with some crazy twists to the game. We were able to laugh at each other and not have any cares. The goal of the day is to loosen up and relax before a big game tomorrow. I believe it worked so all in all it was a good day. Tom. game will be pending on how the weather treats us. Lets hope we can get out there and play some ball. DTH

Apr. 2- Yesterday's game was rained out and moved to today. Chester Co. came ready to play today and hit the ball very well. They seemed to hit every gap we had. Defensively we played ok just couldn't find the great plays we needed to help our pitchers. We did not hit very well today, only getting four balls to the outfield with three dropping. We still have plenty of work to do but it is important the players do not get down on themselves and continue to get better. The season is still long and we have plenty of time before the district tournament. Tom. we are suppose to play Lexington another good hitting team. So we need to come out hitting as well. DTH

Apr. 3- Another rainy day in Tennessee. Today's game was canceled again due to rain. It is even hard to practice with weather like this so I have given the girls sometime off. Hopefully we will be able to play Monday in a very vital district game against McNairy. Lets stay together and play hard. DTH

Apr. 7- Today we played a very good McNairy Central team. Their pitcher I would have to say is one of the best in the district. We lost the game 1-0 but should of had a chance but my coaching mistake cost us a run. Morgan had a no hitter, and when that happens you should have a win to show for it. Overall we played very good defense and helped out our pitcher out. We now need to get our bats going, we only had one hit in this game. We just need to relax and have good swings and it will come. We have started the district off bad, however we start the second time around and if we continue to play good defense and can find a way to hit the ball we will shock quite a few people. DTH

Apr. 10- We got a much needed win against Madison on Tuesday. Our defense is playing very well at the moment and will need to continue as we hit a big stretch of district games. Our batting is still struggling but got better Tuesday as we recorded 7 runs off of 8 hits. Our goal is to not let the other team score and we have a great shot at winning. We have a big match up against Camden Friday, and one district game we are pretty close to having to win. The season is half way and its time to get down to business. DTH

Apr. 14- We took a hard lose Friday night against Camden. We jumped out ahead of them 3-2 and then some errors hurt us in the next and we just couldn't recover. We fell 7-3. Tonight we faced Chester Co. a team that has given South Side trouble for many years. In a thriller of a game we pulled it out 8-7. I am very proud of the girls for hanging in and never giving up. We had the game 6-2 at one point and allowed them to come back and tie it. The game went into the 8th inning and the girls continued to fight and it payed off. This is the first district win of the season against a team everyone wanted to beat. So know ladies build on this win, gain your confidence, and look to take on the Tigers from Lexington. DTH

May 24- This year is done with, and its not the year we all wanted or expected. Our record didn't do this team justice this year. There are a lot of things that can come good out of this year. Our fielding percentage was .910 which is very good in high school. Our hitting struggled throughout the season but we were able to make contact at the end which was a good sign going into next year. Our pitching did better than anyone expected having a team ERA of 4.2 on the year with 187 K, and a batting avg. of .248. We competed with the best in our district giving ourselves a chance to win many of those games. We either beat or had the lead against every team in our district, including Camden and McNairy both times we played them. District tournament it seemed like our girls were just tired and wore out and we fought with everything we had just couldn't make anything happen. I am proud of each and every girl on this team, it has been a crazy year for them. We will miss our seniors has they showed great leadership throughout the year. As for the team coming back I know they are ready for some consistency and ready for the challenges that next year bring as we fight for a district championship. DTH
