Post from 04/23/08:
We want to wish the departing seniors (Matt, Chris, and Greg) well in their futures. Whether you/they continue to play baseball or not they should be proud of what they accomplished during their careers at Socastee. There are lessons learned during the game/season that you will use throughout your life as a team player and a leader and you should not discount that experience. I know the younger players will miss your presence and have enjoyed playing along side of you. Good luck!!

A thank you to Coach Daurity, Coach Richmond, Coach Johnson, Coach Thomas and Coach Rohler for your efforts this year. I am sure the players don't realize how much they have learned from you but they will. It is always tough to try and make a group of kids work together as a team and we appreciate your efforts.

Thanks to Larry Greer who handled all the official scoring and was nice enough to share those stats for this web site. I know there are quite a few grand parents/relatives who use this site to keep up with their grandkids and he was a huge help.

And a thanks to Brian Kines who did a great job in the off season to improve the facilities and for your work in the press box.

All stats have been entered (offense, defense and pitching). These were from the official scorekeeper. If you see something you don't agree with let me know and I will get back to you whether it was my error or if that is what I received. I plan to keep them "in sync" with Larry's for the whole year.

Post from 02/04/08:
Tryouts continue this week. Good luck to everyone trying out!

Braves get ready for the first scrimmage this Saturday at Wando. Wando is a strong 4A team that should compete in the state tourney. For directions click on the fields link on the left.

The Braves return quite a few players from last year and they played together on Jr Legion and some fall teams so they should be mixing better. In addition some new players will be joining the team that have moved into the area so they could be stronger than last years team.

2008 Varsity Schedule is out and is available by clicking on the Schedule button to the left. Changes include playing Loris instead of South Florence during the regular season and splitting up the (now) Mingo Bay Tournament so there is a few weeks gap between the tourneys.

Players are still working hard and look forward to a good year.

Good luck to the Braves!!
