"In our entitlement culture today, young athletes grow up assuming they deserve things without having to work or compete for them. Then, when they enter the competitive arena, and things don't go their way, they blame someone else for their shortcomings. Such players give a team no chance to succeed."

 

To have a significant competitive edge, you've got to have fierce, intelligent, and relentless Competitors who are salivating to compete every day, on every play. As Tennessee women's basketball coach Pat Summitt, herself an intense Competitor, says, "Competitiveness is what separates the achievers from the average."

 

The sports world is aclassic example of the game of life.  Much can be accomplished when nobody becomes too concerned with who gets the credit.  Great plays are made possible by unselfish and disciplined individuals who are more concerned with the end results than with personal ones.

 

It's amazing how much can be accomplished if no one cares who gets the credit.
