2011 Game Results and Highlights

Junior Shane Simpkins sturck out 11 hitters in 5 2/3 innings while only giving up one hit to lead the Crusaders to their 1st victory of the season.   Senior 1B Dan Santiago led the Crusaders with a 2-3.  The Crusaders will return to action on Monday against Moravian Academy.

After Moravian Academy jumped out to an early 1-0 lead, the Crusaders scored 13 runs in the second inning to roll to their second win of the season.  Junior Mike Martinsky picked up the win.  His first varsity victory.  The Crusaders were lead offensively by Dan Macdonald who hit 2 triples in the 2nd inning.  Senior Dan Santiago also finished 2-2 with 3 RBI's.  Notre Dame will open their Colonial League schedule on Wednesday against Saucon Valley.

The Crusaders jumped out early to a 3-0 lead behind the pitching of Shane Simpkins.  After the Panthers came back to take the lead 8-4 by scoring 4 runs in the top of the 7th inning, the Crusaders were not finished.  Junior Justin Dillard delivered in the clutch with an RBI double to score Dan MacDonald with the winning run.  The Crusaders were lead by Dan Santiago (2-4) and Dan MacDonald (2-4).  Sophomore Dan McDonald relieved Simpkins in the 7th and picked up his 1st varsity win.  The Crusaders will travel to Limeport Stadium on Friday to play Southern Lehigh in another key Southern Division match up.  Game time is set for 4 pm.
