I have attended the team mom meeting and therefore have a lot of information to pass onto everyone.

First, I have information about opening day at the field. Opening Day is Saturday, March 24th. The association has arranged for various vendors to be there to help kick off the season. They are also still open to any vendors who are interested in setting up at the field on opening day, with the exception of food vendors. If you know anyone interested please let me know so I can forward the information. There will be a “jump ups” area for inflatable jumps, mazes, etc. There will also be an area set up for smaller children. They are aware that many parents have children in different leagues and will be there throughout the day with their children’s games and pictures. They have set up an all day fun price. Children will be given an armband for $5 that will allow them unlimited access to all activities throughout the day. We are expecting a big turn out for opening day so I have also been asked to let everyone know there is now additional parking below the football field. Please come out and check out the festivities.
Also on the 24th are team pictures. Padres are scheduled for team pictures at 2:45pm. All players need to be there by 2:35pm. Please keep in mind there may be some mild parking congestion with it being such a busy day at the field. Pictures will be taken in the grassy area in front of the main concession stand. Players are asked to bring a bat or glove as a prop for their pictures. The team moms have been asked to go ahead and hand out and also take back up the picture order envelopes. I have these envelopes available now. Even though I will not hand these in until we actually take the pictures if you could get your orders back to me as soon as you get a chance I would greatly appreciate it. Checks should be made out to SPORTOGRAPHY. If you are not ordering any individual pictures of your child please bring him anyway so we may have a complete team picture for our coaches, sponsors and other players. The photographer will have 2 complimentary photo buttons available approximately one week after pictures are taken for all players who order individual pictures. I am assuming by the time pictures are taken we will be close enough to our 4pm game time to stay for warm-up.
As Coach Perry discussed with all of you at the first practice, sponsorship money is needed and greatly appreciated for our team. All donations are tax deductible and I have those forms available if you know anyone or any company who may be interested.
All sponsors will be given a plaque with the team picture on it at the end of the season.

Next, as Coach Perry also mentioned at the first practice, minor league and up trophies are NOT included in your registration fees. Therefore, it is up to us as a team to pay and decide on trophies for the boys and to decide on a season end party or activity. I really have no ideas at this point so I am open for any and all suggestions.
Now onto everyone’s favorite topic, concession stand duty. Padres are scheduled for concession stand duty on Monday, April 30th from 7:30 pm to close which is approximately 9:30 but possibly a bit earlier. Our team needs a total of 6 volunteers. Our team has 12 players and 3 of those have parents who are coaches who already volunteer a lot of their time for the kids. So I will really need almost one person from every player’s family to volunteer. If for some reason the team does not have 6 volunteers for our scheduled concession time then our team will forfeit a game and Coach Perry will also be required to miss an additional game. Please help us out. This year we are now required to submit a sign up form to the concession stand manager at our earliest convenience. I also have this form available now. Thanks again for your help.
Brookwood Athletic Association is trying to move ahead with their website baabonline.com. Team moms have been asked to have ONE e-mail address holder for each household sign a form authorizing us to enter that ONE e-mail address onto the website. This will be used in the future to replace mailings from the association including season registration information so it is important that we get this information. As stated several times herein, I have this form available now as well.
And last but certainly not least, I still need to collect $16.25 for the fees associated with upgrading the uniforms. If you have not already turned that money in please give it to me as soon as you can so I can pick up uniforms as soon as they are ready. Any checks can be made out to me so I can make one payment when picking up the uniforms.
