Attention College Players/Coaches:

I hope this letter finds you in the best of health and full of joy regarding the upcoming baseball season. I am pleased to announce the plans of a new “Summer Wood Bat Collegiate League” in Memphis, TN. The official name of the league: “APAK MID-SOUTH COLLEGIATE LEAGUE” (AMCL).

The AMCL will consist of four (4) teams and open to college eligible players freshman-seniors only. This league is primarily for twenty-two (22) year old players and younger. Senior players will maintain their eligibility to play if not currently drafted by a Major League Team. There will be a twenty-five (25) player roster limit. Our league will welcome players from NCAA, NAIA, as well as Junior/Community Colleges. All players must be currently active on a collegiate baseball roster. Each player must be recommended to play in our league from his current college coach. See enclosed recommendation form.

Our league will consist of a forty-two (42) game schedule. All games played locally at surrounding colleges and city ballparks. Currently, games will be scheduled for Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Other days of the week will be utilized for rain days where available. Additionally, there will be an All-Star Game and a best two(2) out of three(3) playoff series for the Top 2 teams. League awards will be announced at the beginning of the playoffs for the following players: League MVP, Top Hitter, Top Pitcher, Most Improved, and Sportsmanship. The AMCL will announce weekly “Player of the Week” honors on the league’s official website.

AMCL’s ultimate vision is to deliver a first class baseball experience for each player in the league. Working very closely with the college coaches regarding the specific needs/goals of the players, we strongly believe the “AMCL” will maximize each player’s talent. Additionally, our league will work diligently to create a positive training environment where all players feel they are reaching their potential.

Finally, if you are interested in one of our league teams, our league fee for each player is five hundred eighty dollars ($580). The fee covers on-field activities and day-to-day operational cost of the league. Players are responsible for their own meals and housing. AMCL can assist in potential housing options for players if needed, such as local college dorm availability. Only serious inquiries please! The AMCL requires total commitment financially, mentally, and physically.

Kind Regards,

Alvin Rittman
