Championship Game

- Whoo hoo!!! We redeemed ourselves against the Kitchen and pulled out the Championship Title.

- Great pitching by Kev.

- Great catch at the fence by Jack.

- Great catch that almost knocked him off his feet by Cody.

- Great HRs when we needed them.

 

 

 

Thur 10/30 vs Ellery's
2nd Round of Playoffs
- Nice job!
- A little slipping and sliding in the field, but we made the plays that we needed to.
- When they put up some runs, we answered back with runs.  Great job!
- Great stretching by Lisa at 1st all night long.
- Great pitching by Kev.
- Great hitting by everyone!



Thur 10/23 vs Mustangs
1st Round of Playoffs
- Whoo-hoo!  We won in the 8th by 1 after being 1 run from done in the 5th!!!
- Drama drama drama... do I need to say more???
- Again, our team showed up late.  We seemed to have appeared somewhere around the 4th or 5th inning.
- There was a minor earthquake reported in the area (Jack's sliding catch in RC).



Tues 10/21 vs Beviano's Kitchen

- Ummmmmm, I think we forgot to show up.  It was horrible!

- Nothing else to say.

 

 

 

Tues 10/21 vs Scrubs

- Ahhhh, we finally showed up.  Won it in 4 on a cold night.  Great job!

- Kevin K. came in and pitched a few.

- Tony played an awesome 3rd base and even recorded a DoublePlay.

- Rup tripped on 1st in the 1st inning and was out the rest of the game.  She DID record an on-base after that with a walk though.

- Deb kept begging to go home, but we ignored her and made her play.

- Cody, in his shorts an t-shirt, finally admitted he was cold.

- Ricky said his boys were safe from the ball taking funny hops since they crawled up into his body.

 

 

 

Thur 10/16 vs JFK Flames
- Great job finishing the late game in 5 innings (1 run short from finishing in 4).
- A big hand for Ricky who got nailed twice in the family jewels when the ball took a funny hop.  He toughed it out and stayed in the game.  Thank god he was wearing a cup!
- Jack went hiking thru the woods in LC and came out with an armful of balls (that our big burly men probably hit over the fence at some point).
- A big thank you to Jamie and Kathy who subbed last night.  Great job guys!  Don't worry Kathy, Ricky got what he deserved for making fun of you.
- We wore our new shirts and they looked AWESOME!!!



Thur 10/2 vs Roosevelt Reds

- We bounced back with a win after the icky game earlier in the week.

- We got the other team worked up 2 days earlier by calling out one of their bats, and the drama rolled right on into our game.  But, for the most part, we kept our cool and came up with the win.

- Lisa, despite getting steamrolled at 1st, stretched/reached/scooped her way to a Golden Glove.

 

 

 

Tues 9/30 vs Ellery's On Tap

- Ummmmm, did we even show up?  I think we sent our scrub team.  Not many highlights to list.

- 3 solo HRs by cody, Ricky, and Kevin K.

- Uhhhhhh can't think of anything else.

 

 

 

Thur 9/25 vs Ellery's
- We beat the 2nd place team!!!  Whoo-hoo!!!  Nice job guys!!!
- It was raining the whole game but we stuck it out and kept our heads in the game.
- Kevin had a great play on the mound.  After fielding the ball, he watched back the runner on 3rd while running to 1st to get the batter.  When the runner on 3rd took off for home, he tossed it home to the C to make a great tag for the out.  They then got the batter before he got to 1st for the double play.  Nice!!!
- Ricky slammed the ball to RF for an in-the-park HR.  Great job!



Tues 9/23 vs Mustangs

- We pulled out another 5 inning game!  Great job guys!!!

- Kevin almost had his head taken off by a ball off an illegal bat.  Good job by Kenny for pointing it out to the umpire (who was obviously slacking in his duties).

- Another great hitting display by Lisa S. and Kev in the bottom of the 5th to get in that 1 run  that was needed to end the game.

- Kenny crushed 2 over the fence in RF.

- Jack hit an in-the-park HR in the RF corner.

- Lisa C. had a great tag out at home from a great relay by her teammates.

 

 

 

Fri 9/19 vs Agilysys

- We pulled out another short game which was a good thing since we had a 2nd game to play yet.

 

 

 

Fri 9/19 vs Ultimate Collision

- Despite Ultimate Collision paying off the umpire to make some really bad calls in their favor, we pulled it out in the end.

- We were having way too much fun which just made UC very unhappy.

 

 

 

Tues 9/16 vs Seasons

- We kicked booty in 4!  Whoo-hoo!!

- Kenny, Cody, and Ricky all crushed some HRs over the long fences at the Municipal Complex.

- Dana caught the LF'er sleeping and banged one over his head.

- We had a pregame injury.  Tony took a ball to the chin.  His new nickname is Ballchinian.

 

 

 

Thur 9/11 vs Chrome Ponies
- It took a few innings to get going, but we won in 5!
- Cody hit a Grand Salami to put us up by 10 in the bottom of the 5th.  Great job Cody!
- The other team's guys took some walks until they heard us making fun of our own guys.  They stopped that real quick and decided to hit instead.

Thur 9/4 vs Just One
- Whoo-hoo! We won in 5!
- The other team knew they were in trouble when Ruth caught a monster pop-up in RF that they thought she was dropping. Go Ruth!!!
- Tony looked like a sasquatch after trying to locate a stray ball in the bush.
- Thank goodness for Kevin's good pitching because his running stunk :)
- Lisa hit like a hurricane. She dumbfounded the other team by hitting the RF line 1st, then the LF line next.



Tues 9/2 vs Misfits
- Whoo-hoo! We won our first game... and in 4 innings!!!
- Dana lost a cleat but borrowed some magic sneakers, so she was able to hit some line drives thru the IF.
- Kenny hit a rocket out of the park in RF.
- Mike hit a bomb out of the park with no runners on base. Bad Mike!
- Deb wondered why she even changed out of her work clothes. She walked after a guy walked and then a runner was thrown in for her.
- Cody ended the game with an awesome sliding catch in short LC.  His dreams of becoming a breakdancer were realized when he hit the ground spinning.
